Playing my all time favourite instrumental last night. " Pipeline " by The Chantays.

When I think about liking music I rarely reminisce and although there are some that evoke the past more than others it's still mostly a case for "life is too short for boring music" and "a life without music is a mistake and a mis-tale badly told not unlike going to the grave without TGG really! My wife was watching a cooking programme from Aunty and it was a tale of kissing bottoms of ru yet again so I went straight to the earphones on the laptop for, among others:

Plus some NRL footy from the season past ..... T'interweb is a wonderful remedy for the beeb's shenanigans.

I've been playing my " Nuggets " box set a lot lately. Loads of gems on there but " Nobody But Me  " by The Human Beinz is particularly good and the best non Beatles Beatles track ever - " Lies " by The Knickerbockers.

Love that song. I've got it on 45 with the Electric Prunes on the other side.

A great song and one I often refer to when it seems like the dark forces are in the ascendancy

The singer on this track died recently. Without Googling, can you guess who it is?

There was a good programme on BBC 4 tonight with Danny Baker introducing rare performance from the 70s.

Genesis, The Who and Viv Stanshel were enjoyable for me.

Don't forget Brian Eno's yodelling, plus a Nick Lowe cameo too!

Okay, bean-spillage time - it is (yes it really is!) none other than a very young Keith Chegwin.

Was worth watching just to see Viv Stanshall followed up by The Damned.

The Sweet were chuffing ace.

Saw them on Saturday night. They were ace all right. Andy Scott has put an excellent band together.
