A crowd of 152 see Faversham Town win a competitive game 1-0. The Kent side were always stronger and are well set up for a run to get back into the Isthmian League but Bexhill more than gave them a game.

Hailsham's ground really could do with some TLC but it's decent enough - you just could completely miss it even standing 10 yards from it, it's so enclosed.

Well today is the day; Beverley Town set a record for the longest period between consecutive FA Cup games when they take on Whitley Bay this afternoon. Beverley last played in the FA Cup in the 1919-20 season, 105 years and 99 seasons ago.

I've just been chatting with the assistant coach in town and he says there is great potential to take the win. Whitley can't handle any pressure on their defence and we are a very pressing side. He says our striker, Nathan Ofori, is gonna run rings round their defence. Apparently Whitley Bay only have 1 player from last seasons team so they will still be getting used to playing together and gelling.

He said the reason they have so few players from last season is because they have turned down promotion 4 times in the last 7 years so players keep leaving. This can only help Beverley today!

C'mon Beavers! 🦫

If we hadn't have had a man sent off in the 10th minute and given a penalty away, we would have easily won today. We went 3 down just after halftime but pulled it back to 2-3 and were pushing for a 3rd but ran out of time. We were by far the better side and there were a lot of positives to take from the performance. It's certainly encouraging for the season ahead. 912 in attendance.

I need help identifying a badge. I've seen it before but for some reason my mind has just blanked on who it is and I can't seem to find it on the Internet when I search for badges.

The badge is a yellow circle with a couple of thin black lines through it, sort of cutting it in half I think. The shirt itself was yellow and the team were sponsored by Red Bull.

Like I say, I've seen it before but my mind has blanked.

Edit. Just thought, I might not have seen it before, I could be thinking of the old Leeds badge from the 70s but they were obviously never sponsored by Red Bull, so the one I don't know looks a bit like the old Leeds badge.

Edit. Edit. It was the new Leeds away shirt I saw. I just thought the blue bits were black cos I only glanced it going past on a bus. Mystery solved!

I'm too young to have seen that logo in the 70's. Initially I didn't realise that it's an L and U for Leeds United. I was looking at it thinking that's a weird looking shape. It was only when I looked back at historical ones that I could see the lettering.

I'm too young as well, I've just seen the old badge in books and old archive footage and what have you. I'm probably one of the youngest forum members on here.

France 1-3 Spain at HT in the Olympic men’s final.

Olise, Lacazette and Mateta in action for France, but they struggled to handle the cohesion of the Spanish in that first half who were good value for their lead.

EFL kicks off tonight too with every EFL being shown live on Sky Sports + or Sky Sports Football across the next few days.

Ive had a Yankee on Burnley, Bolton, Chesterfield and Barnet in the National League to win their respective divisions.

The Yankee is 11 bets (6 doubles, 4 trebles and a fourfold) - £1 per bet and it accumulates to a £7100 return should they all come in.

1,186 at the Pilot Field for a Division 8 contest that saw Hastings win, somewhat undeservedly, 2-0 against Horsham.

I've just got back home from the Beverley away trip to Barton. We were absolutely rubbish and lost 3-1 but it could have been a lot worse.

Good luck, mate

Thank you for that G ref, that is the last of my bets. I went to the wigan/cafc match yesterday, only because i got a freebie. Blimey it was bloody rubbish i felt robbed even though i didn’t pay for my ticket. I did see Jack Welsby coming out of the ground.

Have you had any bets yourself G ref ?.

Did a season long Yankee on:

Burnley, Bolton, Chesterfield and Barnet to win their respective divisions.

So the Yankee (6 doubles, 4 trebles and a four fold = 11 bets in total.

Did a £1 per line (£11 in total) and it returns £7100 if all the teams win.

Also reruns a reduced sum if 2 or 3 come in.

Thanks for that, I knew that BBC had got highlights but didn't know that Amazon had got a game.

Interesting that the bookies have priced Manchester City as low as 11/1 now to be relegated this year.

Originally they were around the 2000/1 mark like Liverpool and Arsenal to go down.

I wonder what they know…

Might be the first Saturday of the premier league but my tv will be tuned into the bbc and fa cup game between north east non league stalwarts Ashington afc and Bishop Auckland ( now both members of the npl east division) Ashington the home town of the Charlton brothers and Wor Jackie Milburn against former amateur cup giants Bishop Auckland hopefully wearing their traditional Oxford/ Cambridge blue halfed shirts met on Tuesday in the league with the Bishops edging it 2-1 , this one could go either way. Will follow this with a walk down my local Workington fc v Leek town, hopefully a first win for the reds
