Sam Barlow Assaults UK Anti-Doping Officer

Recommended Posts

Higham 3 games, Hock 3 games, Acton 7 games. It's certainly a roller coaster if you're a Leigh fan.

I can see "conspiracy theorists" abound in Leigh now with more of the "they're out to get us" type nonsense. Have they got any spare forwards at Salford that Del Boy can pick up on the cheap?

Nothing at UKAD yet -

That list is not a good read for both codes.

With the best, thats a good bit of PR, though I would say the Bedford team, theres, like, you know, 13 blokes who can get together at the weekend to have a game together, which doesnt point to expansion of the game. Point, yeah go on!

Care to elaborate?

No. Do your own research.

And when they found our shadows

Grouped around the TV sets

They ran down every lead

They repeated every test

They checked out all the data on their lists

And then the alien anthropologists

Admitted they were still perplexed

But on eliminating every other reason

For our sad demise

They logged the only explanation left

This species has amused itself to death

No tears to cry no feelings left

This species has amused itself to death

If you're going to make obnoxious & cowardly comments then you should be prepared to back them up. It's not up to others to "research" them.

Presumably relating to the Swinton v Leigh game where Josh was on the bench as a sub but ran onto the field of play to join in a fight and was sent off

Interestingly (or maybe not) if you have a sub sent off you still play with 13 men on the field.

"I am the avenging angel; I come with wings unfurled, I come with claws extended from halfway round the world. I am the God Almighty, I am the howling wind. I care not for your family; I care not for your kin. I come in search of terror, though terror is my own; I come in search of vengeance for crimes and crimes unknown. I care not for your children, I care not for your wives, I care not for your country, I care not for your lives." - (c) Jim Boyes - "The Avenging Angel"

To be fair, that is quite interesting. Never knew that (although id not really thought about it!)

No need for the abuse, all you had to do was check out Josh Barlow's disciplinary history. Your problem if you can't be bothered.

Runs in the family. His brother Josh is also a complete nutjob.

I actually know the family and they're ordinary decent people but hey don't let your lack of knowledge stop you mouthing off

I'm still trying to find out what the crown court at Bradford decided on sentencing.

I was baffled by the common assault charge - given the circumstances it should have been a lot more serious.

With the ban starting from November last year, the ban is well under way.

Demanding to be tested isn't a sign of innocence. There are very short periods when a lot of drugs or hormones will show up. Not saying he was guilty, but demanding to be tested could just show Barlow was aware of when he could be confident of a test showing up negative.

Te the tester showing up suspiciously, aren't they allowed to go through bins, etc to find evidence of use, given that testing can be limited as described above?

It might be going to the high court so I'm tempted to keep my mouth shut.

The tribunal and appeals documents appear are revealing. Interesting to see what involvement the club had.

The documents do provide an interesting and compelling record of the events

Quality, real high quality again. Really hope your lot go bump after missing the 8's and disappear off the face of the RL world.

This is a weird one, assault without assault and more severe charges dropped. What was a doping agent doing outside a players house late at night on his own? If he was part of a team, or with a witness, it would make more sense. Was he there to take a sample, who would witness it? What if it was tampered with? Doesn't smell right this, especially after they were all over Leigh last year like a Sheffield Swingers rash

Good news - 2 super league teams defeated in last 4 weeks and SKY commentators saying in Salford match the best game they had seen

in a long time.

A championship team in face of adversity can possibly make huge step into Super League.

Some terrible things from Sports village - notably Halifax coach (Karl Harrison) shouting "kill Barlow" from the dug out - resulting in Halifax forward Manning being sent off for appalling violence on the field.

For certain Barlow will not be playing next season - and with luck we will not be playing Halifax.

Leigh were tested many times last year at LSV, it seems Sam was tested at home a couple of months prior to this. Is that normal when you are providing negative samples? There was a lot of mud thrown from the WF area last year about Leigh, did this influence events? Sam was stupid imo but as was stated he simply needn't have answered the door if he wanted to avoid a test. I read or thought I did, somewhere that if you are on a list? Bad wording I know, then you have to state where you will be for testing, was he on that list?

Yes, many sports test more than ours without any negative testing.  From reading the reports, Leigh was targeted, so certain players may of been getting more than usual.

I read or thought I did, somewhere that if you are on a list? Bad wording I know, then you have to state where you will be for testing, was he on that list?  On that list you nominate an hour a day, stating where you will be.  If he was on that list, not answering the door would of been a 'missed test', 3 missed tests and its a 2 year ban.  I'm not sure if Barlow was on that list, if he wasn't then he could of just pretended not to be in, and we wouldn't be talking about it.  By speaking to the tester, you are acknowledging their presence and avoidance is treated harshly from that point.

I believe testers can do targeted testing at any time, but if you, for example, are not home, then there are no comebacks.  (The whereabouts system is different, thats where you nominate an hour a day).

I am getting more confused by the minute here, so if Barlow had shouted from the window Fekk off I'm being intimate with the wife then nothing happens - why would a Tester turn up unannounced on the doorstep outside nominated hours or just on the random chance he could test someone and get a brew???

Sam has behaved very strangely here but I cant get my head around why the Tester was there.

intelligence. Which was acknowledged but not documented there.

The tester was perfectly within his rights to be there, nothing else matters.
