With quite a few bays still only having every other row on sale I would hold any smugness until tomorrow

I think my posts may have been misunderstand; I've been trying to inject a little humour in referring to the grumble quotient. I needn't have worried because we're back on track.

I actually don't think it's funny at at all that the match didn't sell out months ago and if there is anything near a full stadium tomorrow, it's no thanks to the marketing team.

Sorry mate, I think we have had our fill of Aussie smugness we can't recognise good old light hearted banter when we see it.

For us it is not about the Aussies, for some of those England players it will the biggest game of their careers. They deserve it to be rammed. I will be thoroughly disappointed for the game of it is not.

Thanks - I agree entirely.

I'm happy to let you take the lead on this one.

Just had a quick look on the ticket website, and tickets behind the posts are still around £55 and along side are all over £100. Surly at this late stage, they would of reduced the price. Ridiculous

I don't think its ridiculous at all to be honest. If we did that for all major events then no one would ever buy tickets early. Also if I'd paid £100 for a ticket I'd be rightly aggrieved if the person beside me paid £25 at the last minute. I would ]feel like my loyalty had been taken advantage of and would never buy a ticket early again.

About the same price as 2013 then. Best seats cost £99 back then.

Discounted tickets can work though. And did in 2013. You just need to be careful how you publicise it.

Ie  they should be going to any database they can with exclusive 50% off offers now.

I think those sections were pretty small though, often discounted and usually put at that RRP so they could include them in tour packages as high value.

Unlike in 2013, it appears that the people runnIng this tournament are clueless. I’ll give you an example they have set up a fans village in centre of Brisbane which is a great idea, but you can’t buy any merchandise there, apart from Steeden rugby balls.

i get the impression that once they underwrote the cost of the competition with the cash from the venues and channel 7they have done the bare minimum, certainly in Oz.

According to Ticketek there are only 45 seats left unsold and they do not appear to be at cheap or discounted prices.

Talent is secondary to whether players are confident.

That is inaccurate.

See the following link, in which there are tickets available across CAT A, B and C - http://au.tickets.rlwc2017.com/events/RLWC2117/venues/BRISBST/performances/ERLW2017954/tickets

There are gaps behind the Northern posts, and there will be gaps in the corners of the 2nd tier, and the Upper Western tier.

40,000 should be expected.

That's okay. That website is a third party ticket seller, usually selling second hand tickets. Looks like the scalpers who would have bought at the start will have a hard time.

Fair enough.

The incompetence is shocking. They shut down Cat C tickets yesterday saying exhausted and then open 5 sections on the day of the game. No way this is going to hit 50k. I think they will be lucky to hit 42-43k.

I have a friend in Brisbane who arrived 2 days ago to play women's union. I asked her if she was going, and she was interested as the women's final is on too. I badgered her to go anyway.

She texted me to say 'No' as tickets were too expensive. (Apart from high in the corner) Then YESTERDAY (Europe time) she texted again to say that new tickets had just been released and she got one. (ie: the day of the match).

Unreal.
