Total Recall (the one with Arnie)

I think it’s improved with age.

Wonderfully OTT.

Some Like it Hot, brilliant Billy Wilder. Saw a doc with Jack Lemmon talking about the bunk scene with Marilyn, and they got it spot on first time, but Jack kept asking for one more retake, just to be in bed, cuddled up to Marilyn Monroe. Can I stunt double for him please.

Just finished watching that too. Always a pleasure to see it. Now for the Alastair Sim version of A Christmas Carol on Talking Pictures TV.

Right now , just got home in time to see the ' slain of the Hydra ' rise 😁

This guy mostly reviews terrible movies and is funny, but he's done some excellent documentaries, including a fantastic one on Lon Chaney. This one may be right up your street.

The Great Outdoors (1988)

John Candy, Dan Aykroyd, Annette Bening and (sigh) Lucy Deakins. Plus a very angry bear with a grudge and three sarcastic raccoons.

A family comedy from two of SNL's Golden Generation, plus a fine supporting cast. If you liked the National Lampoon 'Vacation' films - well, the good ones anyway - this is right in the same bracket.

This afternoon had a double dose of Leach and Hitchcock , ' To catch a thief ' and ' North by Northwest '

Super films, I loved the scene where Gregory Peck jumps on the bus to escape the Police, and finds himself sitting next to a cage of birds, then looks to his left to look straight at Alfred Hitchcock

42 - The True Story of an American Legend.......on Prime Video.

In 1947, Jackie Robinson became the first African-American to play in Major League Baseball in the modern era, when he was signed by the Brooklyn Dodgers.

Great to catch up tonight with this important film from 2013 and the role that Jackie Robinson played towards racism. Good to see too Harrison Ford, as the Dodgers’ owner, in excellent form —hard to believe he’s 78yrs, and in line for the next Indiana Jones project in 2022!

Happy New Year - let’s hope!

watched my 1st ever bond film SKYFALL from start to finish last night - it will also be my last- running jumping and rolling round for 2 hours while shooting at baddies and been shot at with a plot thinner than piece of rice paper that had been left out in the rain- rubbish

To be honest, despite the critical acclaim of the Daniel Craig films, they don't do it for me at all. I have twice fallen asleep trying to watch 'Casino Royale', despite all the running, jumping and shooting.

Yes, there are some terrible older Bond movies (like Moonraker or Die another Day), but there are also some exciting and fun ones too.

found the actor playing 007 to be incredibly dull with the screen presence and appeal of a wet haddock
