Neither Myler nor Holmes are innocent. Holmes was trying to slow the ruck down. Myler lashed out a bit with the elbow. Holmes slightly nudged him with the foot. Anyone with a semblance of common sense gives both of them a talking to and tells them to calm down and neither incident warrants much more than a penalty.

I don't think the ref penalised the holding down though.  Myler swang an arm, intended or not, Holmes kicked out, intentionally.

There was an oppurtunity there, men outside Smith to go through hands. Exactly what Gale was saying to Smith under the sticks (if my lip reading skills are up to scratch) Smith ruined it by taking an option that wasnt needed, and executing that bad option poorly.
