Just seen a video on Facebook where Elliott has announced he has to retire from playing due to his back injury. Said he was actually very close to a return last season, but a specialist has said he can no longer play. Gutted for him, you can see how emotional he is in the video. Good luck for the future and thanks for all you did for Town.

Absolutely gutted for the lad. These guys have to think about their family and life after rugby. Been a brilliant player for the club, loved by the fans and players.

Very sad . A fit and firing Elliott would hold his own against anyone in this league , and indeed has stood up and got the best of some highly regarded centres . The best outside back we’ve had for some time … teak tough , a strike weapon in attack and rock solid in defence . When he hit you felt it ( in err both ways  ! ) . All the best Elliott , absolute quality and will always be very very highly regarded . Leaves a gap hopefully we can shore up , by someone who’ll have big boots to fill that’s for sure

What a shame for the lad, gutted for him that he's had to end his career like this. An absolute joy to watch in his pomp and rightly a fans favourite. Hope he gets to walk out on the pitch one last time this weekend so we cane sing his song for him again.  Good luck for the future marra UTT!!

Been an absolute privilege to watch Elliott play and he’s been a simply fantastic player

i hope he gets his back injury treated such that he can have a great quality of life outside of rugby league
