Anthony Milford to leigh.

Not official as yet but read that is what the "The Mole" is predicting.

Now we need a top class FB, O'Brien has done OK but a next level player would be most welcome, what a spine we could have

To be named FB, Milford, Lam, Ipape and Asiata.

Salivating at the prospect.

Morgan Smith and Nathan Massey off to Hull fc.

Massey been rumoured to be off to Fev also, although personally I think we need to look for younger options if possible.

The team will be resembling McDermott's age wise, SL is no place for an older collection of players grouped together.

Anthony Milford is a top class player on his day, only 29 years old and exciting to watch he was Dolphins Marquee for 2023 however he has been blighted with rumours of a bad attitude. Ipape was released by the Hunters for a so called bad attitude and he has been brilliant at the club and community so hopefully if it comes off we get the “professional” version of Milford, he has the potential to be a real exciting SL player.

Not seen much of Milford admittedly, but the few bits I’ve seen of him suggest his strengths are more his running / step. Whereas Leigh really need someone with any sort of kicking game, long or short, which has been sadly lacking this season.

Sadly he's far too injury prone but he's fine when playing, i hope he go's well at Hull fc.

He's off to Hull fc anyway.

Good news, nothing against Massey, but we should be looking to avoid signing 34 year old forwards if at all possible.

There are a few exceptions to that rule but admittedly very few.

And therein sits the gulf between SL and NRL, lots of the 32/33 plus brigade can still get contracts in SL, but not many unless they are really exceptional in the NRL such is the quality of the production line spewing out new talent consistently year on year.

Yes our kicking is absolutely shocking, it seems as though we aim for the oppositions full back/wingers on the full in our field kicking, I would wager that the number of kicks that have found the ground over the season you can count on both hands and still have a digit or two spare, it is testimony though as to how good our chase is, just imagine how much better it would be if we were finding open space with our field kicks.

Can think of one reasonable kick each for Lam and Reynolds during the Saints game, and a whole bunch of absolute stinkers. Even accounting for how little time they had. And there is no short kicking game at all, even when opposition players are pushing up onto our left edge, neither of our half backs will still not kick it behind them. Shame we couldn't get May, he would've addressed the short kicking game at least.

Adam Reynolds would clearly be a better fit, but even though there’s been rumours, it looks like he’s staying in Brisbane for another couple of years.

Adam Reynolds alongside Nathan Cleary are probably - in my opinion - the best all round field kickers in the game at present.

Adam Reynolds for Leigh, yes please and not just for his kicking his distribution is up there with the best, but alas even Mr Beaumont could not afford him.

@Monkeymagic22is the emoji because you disagree about the player's or tge comment re Mr Beaumont?

Might be your comment on Beaumont which the ‘even’ suggests he is one of if not the wealthiest owners of a SL club.

He’ isn’t, not by a long shot.

any way its moot, Reynolds coming to SL is fantasy land stuff.

To be honest, I reckon full back might be a fair way down the list of priorities for this winter's recruitment at Leigh. If anyone in the backline is going to be replaced, I'd imagine it would be Briscoe. He's done well, but struggles when coming away from his own line (he averaged just 3m per carry against Saints) and he turns 34 next year. Plus, I'm not sure he was even likely to be first choice this season, until Ferguson went home.
