What are the rule changes to look out for this season?

Heard refs are penalising players who don't play the ball properly.  Are there any more rules to slow the game down?

I watched the challenge cup match on the sportsman on Saturday and the ref  blew for blatantly obvious not playing the ball properly- but then seemed to forget and it was pretty much back to normal.

Our New Beginning starts today.

After over 60 years of watching the Yeds, through thick and thin I hope to see us become a great force in RL in the coming years.

Come on the Yeds put a smile back on our faces.

That makes two of us.

During that 60 years we'd literally sunk as low as it was possible to get.

We've now got a mountain to climb and it may not be easy, but this time we've got the will-power and all the necessary resources to climb back up to where we belong.

Our true measure of success will be getting up there and STAYING there.

For the first time in very many years I feel confident that we can achieve that success.

Me ?   Forever a 'Roughyed'.

Sadly, I was talking to an old friend of mine who is in his eighties, he said it's come a little too late for him! So let's hope for him, and others who have gone through the hellish years, that the great times will come soon. The Halifax game was great and wouldn't it be great watching games like that every weekend.

All through the close season my League Express has arrived early on a Monday morning. Not via the Post Office as it's not in an envelope, just the paper through the day just like the paperboy used to do in the old days. This week, when I'm so looking forward to reading about our fantastic result yesterday there is no paper.

Anyway, for those that know us, we will be back to watch the boys. We've had a few bad years looking after Dad with his Alzheimers and dementia. He passed away in July which, to be honest, was a relief not least to him. Anyway Sue had her birthday on New Year's Eve then, on the Wednesday following, she slipped in the garden and broke her left tibia. She can't even try to put her foot down for another few weeks let alone put any weight on it.

Quick question for when we do come back; are we going to be able to park the motorhome at BP? Just sometimes it would be nice to make a weekend of it rather than the five hour round trip in a day.

Here's one of me, literally, flying the flag during the World Cup

Great to hear that you’re able to get back in the flesh. Not too long ago the club would have had to borrow your motor home for the players to get changed in! Onwards and upwards!!!

Reading this morning's paper it was saying Rochdale FC have until Thursday to find several millions of pounds by Thursday of this week or they will cease to exist. The Hornets would obviously be affected. Let's hope this doesn't happen since we know what it's like.

All the best and hope for our best friends overthill.

Well it will depend on how the prospective US (texas-based) owners deal with the footy clubs commitments to the existing lease under which Hornets play at spotland. Hopefully the positive outcome of the Vegas games might have introduced them to the game of RL positively.

There is a Dale EGM on Thursday to issue about 6 billion penny shares. If supported this will enable the yanks to buy 90% of total shares for 2 million quid and take full control including the stadium ownership ( even though the ground is allegedly valued between 4 and 6 million). The prospective buyers are part owners of Dutch football club MVV Maastricht and a basketball team in the NBA development league.

If they dont want Hornets around I believe there is a facility not being used at Whitebank😂
