Are Oldham going to be full time next year?

Not sure what the point would be. Under the grading system, it will take another 4-5 years for Oldham to be pushing for SL, even if they are at the top of the Championship.

You say that as if it’s the grading systems fault it would take at least as long for them to get a SL ready squad.

Agreed. Problem Oldham is have is the legacy of the previous owner with regards to the whole IMG mess.

Exactly. With 60% of the criteria averaged over 3 years. It's going to take at least another 2 years before they could even get on an even keel.....by which time IMG will likely be long gone anyway.

And in a nutshell, the absurdity of scrapping P&R.

Not really, the club needs to be ready to compete at the top.

Steady growth over the next few years will see a SL ready club rather than a SL ready team

Womens Roses* battle between Lancashire and Yorkshire. 19th October.  To be held at Boundary Park. AND it's free entry. Get in.  Wonder if that'll help our utilisation score with IMG?

*I know they're calling it the Origin Clash, but honestly to me anything between the house of Lancaster and the house of York is a Roses battle!

Would say Leighs last year in the championship was SL ready...

I don’t think anyone could argue with that.

A big number of that squad made the SL dream team the year after.

Under IMG grading system Oldham will not get into SL in my lifetime and i hope i have another 15 years.

To be frank, most Oldham fans are in tune with the Oldham boards main objectives: reignite the towns passion for rugby league, increase the crowds, grow the pathway for the talent that exists within the town, establish the senior team as a force in the championship and only then think about superleague.  I, for one, am looking forward playing the likes of Featherstone,  Halifax, Bradford and Widnes and competing on an equal footing.

Like most Oldham supporters, I couldn’t agree more.

I'm not an Oldham fan by any means, but I too could not agree more. Lots of hard work lies ahead. Ahead is lots of skepticism, cynicism and  criticism on here, as well as lots of support, too.

Promise one thing, just one thing, though, please.  Make sure the owners and coaches don't dress up as Mr Chuckles from Brassed Off. One owner like that is enough.😄

Oldham media team working on our history. Drawing the people of the town back to the club.

All created by Michael Turner the clubs historian and the Heritage Trust. The opening song is written and sung by his daughter Sarah and the rousing song at the end by the Boundary Parkas is  available to purchase on CD or download on Apple Music. .
