Certainly not enough to change the whole starting 13. But there are three out on dual reg this week, one out on loan on top of the 4 in the 21 man squad that won’t make the 17.  So there were options to rest players, but would’ve been effectively throwing the game and still having first teamers playing, so would’ve been worst of both worlds

It's been a while since there was lots of booing of the team/club at Headingley but the combination of opposition and circumstances set this one up nicely for it if things don't go Leeds way on Sunday.

Why is that MjM,

Surely the Leeds fans realise that Leigh have been more consistent and better than Leeds overall this season  it should not come as a shock to them if Leigh DO field their strongest team that they come away still in third spot and leave Leeds struggling to make the six.

And in this season, when the Leigh club have surpassed many things they have personally done before and created new records, there is one that I really want Leigh to maintain both this and next week in that we have not lost a game to any club from Yorkshire home or away, played 11 won 11.

No offense to Leigh but it'll take more than one season of quite good results before many fans of any of the established SL clubs will view a loss to them at home as an acceptable result. Especially the week before a cup final.

As always happens the week before a cup final you can expect Leeds to test just how much the Leigh players want to be there.

What relevance has history to any present season?

You know full well that expectation isn't totally predicated on a single current season in isolation. Come on Harry!

Expectation at times does not comprehend with reality, for proof of that and lightning striking twice go back two weeks,  expectation said we had a Saints v Wigan CC final but reality piffed on those chips.

This season the expectation was Huddersfield would be going very well with tge squad they amassed as would Leeds off the back of a young super coach who took them from nowhere to a GF last season, and Leigh would be favourites for relegation, bookies love you guys who back your expectations, they have made fortunes from it for years.

It's a bit strange having both Leeds United and Leeds Rhinos each at home on the same day at the same time.

It’s a nightmare for getting to and from the ground when this happens especially with the roadworks near the M62 coming out of leeds!

Unfortunately the soccer team's games were released after the Rugby League team's and they have fallen this way. Not much Leeds could do about that, certainly they didn't want to move the match as the Sunday games are quite rare and tend to have a particular marketing focus around them.

Or knowing Leigh play a rather important game only 6 days later.

I heard they looked at playing it on the Thursday sky slit but headingley was in use for the cricket.

Not sure why Leeds should be changing fixture dates just because Leigh are in a final though.

You do take things to heart it was said in jest. I know it was tried to be changed.

It is what it is HKR well the players that take the field at Wembley will not have played for 15 days whilst most if not for all the Leigh players except for Gildarts replacement on the field or the bench it will be 6 days, then the old which is the better rest or keep playing comes into play, if we can come through Sunday with a clean bill of health that will do me, but sods law usually comes and bites you in the R'se.

I am under no illusions, Leeds need the points and will do whatever it takes to secure them.

See the Leigh fans have been given the "open to the elements" end, those are the tickets that are on-sale at the LSV for this fixture and the forecast is 80/90% rain during the game, can't blame them if they infiltrate the sides under cover, I don't care how much the Leeds fans defend that portion of the ground it is not a  good show in this day and age for one of our top clubs, fans having to pay 20odd £'s and stand in the rain for a couple of hours getting piffed wet through. I will be in attendance but in corporate for this game.

I don’t know how many times it has to be pointed out but there’s literally nothing Leeds can do to renovate the western terrace to put a roof on it. I’m not defending it, it is what it is.

The weather isn’t looking as bad anyway its forecast for 40% chance of rain now.

Tickets are available to buy for the 3 other stands.

They could stop selling season tickets at the other end and keep it free for away fans?

Equally, expectations can be broader than that. At Leeds the basic expectation is that the club will be winning or at least able to win every game we play in domestically - that's not arrogance, its just a reflection of the resources and numbers of the club.

Losing at home to a club playing in the championship last year doesn't match those expectations.
