In memory  of an old work colleague Tony O' Shaughnessy a Steelers fan. We would discuss the game in the old days when it was on Channel 4. Tony sadly passed away a few years ago.

Jerod Mayo at the New England Patriots has three things in his favour, Firstly a tolerant owner in Robert Kraft, Secondly he is another first year coach, but most crucially he does have a franchise quarterback in Drake Maye who impressed in defeat at Wembley v the Jags.

MIke McCarthy at the Dallas Cowboys position is more secure that it appears, after three consecutive 12-5 seasons owner Jerry Jones elected to let a bunch of players leave in free agency and bring no-one in leaving his coaching staff on a one year deal. Unsurprisingly the Cowboys have faded this year and the fans flak has focused on Jerry rather than Big Mike. Plus of course Jerry at 82 year old has not got the time for another re-build under a different coach. You see you should not get rid of a super bowl winning coach unless you have someone better lined up.

The same applies to Doug Pedersen at Jacksonville Jaguars, Although the Jags were tipped for a playoff run this year the club has slumped. though it is fair to point out that the UK's team has lost nine of 13 defeats by one score so they have not been as far off as the record suggests. Owner Shad Khan is taking flak at present but needs to consider that Jacksonville is viewed as a coaching graveyard and its not so long since the NFLPA was advising members not to go to the club (circa 2017). If you have a toxic repuation why punt your Head Coach ?

Robert Griffin III tweeted post Chargers crashing out to Houston in the playoffs that Justin Herbert' s playoff failures should be given the same s scrutiny as those of Lamar Jackson and Dak Prescott which is fair comment.

The Chargers had a lot of possession early on and failed to capitalise against a Houston defence that has given up a lot of points this season but were made to look like the 1985 Bears. C J Stroud totally outplayed Herbert.

Lamar Jackson's Ravens seem headed towards an AFC championship clash wih the Chiefs following what could well be Russell Wilson's last game in the NFL as a starter.

On the Pittsburgh v Green Bay game at Croke Park, Given that the Home teams in 2025 are the Jags, New York Jets and Cleveland Browns and the Jags do not appear to be playing more than one game, you wonder if either Pittsburgh or Green Bay will be the team playing twice back to back one in the UK and one in Ireland or vice versa, as they both clubs are on the London teams schedules.

Miami to Madrid is now official. No need to panic about the Dublin game the NFL likes to stagger its announcements and gas yet to reveal the Rio De Janero game as well so  be patient.

Sometimes the problem is not the general manager  the head coach, the other coaches the players, the tea ladies etc.Some times the only problem is the owner. Washington having just proved this.

Message to Woody if Trump sends you to Blightey again please think about selling the team.  I hope it is only a rumour that you went for players that were suggested by family members  who played the game Madden and selected them according to their rankings.  One Jets Drive where the lunatics have taken over the asylum

Let's end with some good news. The game gets criticised for the owners moving the teams on the whim. The nomadic Rams being a case in point. Good to see Sean McVay, Kipper Kupp  and others  I'll  post the link later donating large amounts to help those affected by the LA fires.

Finally, let's go Buffalo have always had a soft spot for them ever since I saw that banner in then Rich Stadium on Channel 4 that said Heartbreak Hotel and that was before they lost the four Superbowls.

It was wasn’t an easy catch but If Kincaid hadn’t dropped the ball at the end Buffalo might well have scored a touchdown or at least put the game into overtime.

Instead I go back to the fourth down at the start of the fourth quarter. I thought Allen had got the first down but the officials said no and the Chiefs scored on the next drive.
