Who did Jenna Brooks say Leigh were close to signing next season vrom the NRL to replace Ricky Lutelle?

I wouldn’t worry about who she said. Her reports on transfers have more faults than my first driving test

It's not that good Paul, as soon as it was announced Magic was going there, that was me missing, TV then my choice.

It should be a very simple thought process.

Check stadium availability then football cricket on the same weekend etc

Good win for Leigh and nice to make it back to back wins over Rowley teams considering our record is usually poor. More importantly every result went Leigh’s way this week and the playoff race is very much game on now

Hull KR, Wigan, Warrington, Saints, Catalans, and Leigh looking solid for the top 6, Salford seem to be losing their way.

Didn’t go to the game because of the clash with football, but watched the first half before football and just seen the second half.

Don’t think the scoreline flattered Leigh at all. The late tries really were the icing on the cake. Not often we get a resounding win against that lot, even more so since Rowls has been coach, so it’ll certainly be a big confidence boost.

Still think the draw against Castleford will be the deciding factor overall, but the race is very much back on for now.

I told my Grandson this would be the best game of the weekend but it was a right damp squib, i also said as we were discussing the game on the way in that if Sneyd plays well Salford will but if Salford don't Sneyd won't and i was bang on, he was anonymous and is certainly the type of player who looks good when he's team are on top but i've very rarely seen him actually pull his team back into a game, he's an excellent player but seems to be reliant on his team playing well for him to look good.

Salford could have played all night and wouldn't have scored, they were awful.

Leigh fans need to learn the difference between high tackles and hard, fair challenges, my ears were ringing with their constant screeching for punishment, and both sets of fans need to mix their songs up a bit, i couldn't tell who were getting battered or who were massive at the end.

Very disappointing game for one i had high hopes of.

The Warrington and Leeds matches also stick out as massive dropped points for me. Still, a testament to the squad that in all likelihood they’ll be 1 point of the playoffs this time next week having gone  1 win from 7 to start the year.

I think ultimately, a poor off season has cost us. The Leeds game at home showed an issue with fitness for me, as we looked done after an hour. And the opening day of the season, the players all looked like strangers. Then there were all those muscle injuries that plagued us as well.

But the dropped point against Cas. Not only did we blow a 3 score lead, we hit the post with a drop goal bang in front.

Yes not getting the replacement S&C coach until very late in preseason killed us. We look back to the fitness levels of last year now so they’ve clearly rectified this, just need to hit the ground running next year

Hopefully a better off season will partially offset the inevitable drop in quality in the pack

Once again @sweaty craiq as informed us that yet to be named  new players a prop and back row are on their way, but like Jenna Brook we don't usually find out who they are - ever, c'mon Sweaty give us a clue?

This is a typical Salford result, whenever they can make an impact in the top 6, they have an awful game, the Cas game was another.

Leigh were the better team by some way, but that was an awful performance from Salford, especially after last week.

Maybe they are unable to string 2 performances together.

Would be interesting to see Salford's win ratio vs teams below them in the league, compared to that against teams above them this season.

My main fear for Salford is whether they are running out of steam. Looked spent at the end of the Saints game, and showed very little yesterday, and showed a pretty soft centre in defence. I imagine the most likely scenario is that the top 6 remains as is, but something will have to change for Salford and Catalans if they are to remain in the play offs for more than a week. (Would say the same for Saints as well, but I'm assuming they will improve as players come back).

Salford these days seem to be trying to emulate the Catalans/Saints style of fast line speed/aggressive defense and containment through Sneyds tactical kicking, but the pack just isn’t there to support that style. A lot of the reason the game got so scrappy for me was the aggressive line speed on both sides to shut down play early but Salford didn’t have the pack and started getting rolled through the middle.

It’s an odd choice of tactics for a team that has been so heavily invested in the outside backs at the expense of the pack for several years now, which doesn’t appear to be changing with Marsters coming in. Salford would have been far more threatening yesterday if they switched back to the more expansive play of 2023.

The two sin bins weren't tedious reffing, the Salford players clearly hit the Leigh players high. Especially Ryan's yellow.

There's no consistency much worse have gone unpunished it's becoming more like touch and pass while the Nrl thrives and takes the game to new places because their product, is far superior to ours the tackles you mentioned wouldn't even raise comment never mind a penalty.

Both tackles were high, seems pretty consistent.

If you think the NRL is superior because they allow more high shots then I am not sure what factors in a game of RL you are looking to watch.

The NRL aren’t being sued by a bunch of ex players though.

I thought Singleton was unfortunate, but on the flip side, Lafai was lucky not to see at least a yellow for the cannonball on Trout. Not sure there can be any arguments in Ryan’s yellow, would’ve been borderline last year.

Yeah, there's been no soft sin bins or red cards in the NRL this season....

Unbelievable.

Lafai was a good hard hit when I played ,but it was a shoulder charge all week and twice tomorrow.

In todays game - Yellow card all day long as there was no attempt to wrap the arms. Just exterminate ! 🤣
