The day all Hull fans have been dreading as one of our true legends and one of the greatest players ever to pull on the black and white jersey announces his retirement.

I don't remember a time when Danny wasn't playing and Hull will never be the same for me again! A new era for the club beckons it seems!

A great servant for Hull FC. He will be long be remember for the Challenge Cup performance and match winning tackle towards the end against Warrington. He was phenomenal that day.

Great servant, hope he stays in the game.

Hopefully as a conditioning coach! Guy has the best engine going so hopefully can pass that on somehow!

I wouldn't say we've been dreading it. Personally I'm pleased for him that he's hanging up his boots before his body gives up on him totally. He's given his all for the club and has taken some punishment over the years!

An excellent player in his prime, and a fantastic servant to Hull FC. Hopefully he gets to run out a few more times so that the fans get a chance for a proper goodbye.

As a neutral, sitting in the Hull end, it was a privilege to be there.

I'll never forget the crescendo of noise at the game's conclusion as the "You'll never win at Wembley" monkey was finally thrown off their back.

One of the hardest-working players of the modern era.

It's a shame for him that he'll bow out as part of a club that's had such a poor few seasons, rather than going out with a bit of glory in the playoffs/final.

Let me never fall into the vulgar mistake of dreaming that I am persecuted whenever I am contradicted.
