I would have thought that didnt matter. After all surely its Russel Crowe that will bring the financial clout. I suspect Crowe is on set somewhere filmiing and hasnt got around to signing the documents.

Jepson was never coming in on his own. 

He is looking for people to join and buy 30% hence the hold up due to all checks he will be doing. 

Nothing to worry about he is still running the club on a day to day basis.

I don't know whether it's just a poorly written release, but there are a couple of weird things in that.

It suggests that DD has been completed. It took longer than they thought, but it has now been done. If they only gave themselves 4m to do DD and complete the agreement, and they've completed DD, why do they now need a further 3 months to complete this?

And the last line of still going to watch the match seems a little odd.

As I say, hopefully just clunky press release.

I was just thinking, it's a pity Barry Humphries is dead.If Russel Crowe is not available then Sir Les Patterson would have had all the attributes to make a good Cas director.

Sympathetic as I am to Salford, this is a totally different as there has been no suggestion that Cas can't pay their  bills, just that the legal proceedings are delayed there.

I think the similarity is the lack of public knowledge of who the prospective investors are and therefore do they really exist.

As with Salford, the public has zero right to that knowledge, as in any business transaction. Anyone demanding it doesn't understand how this works.

I see nothing to be at all alarmed about, as we have a business which is currently trading going through a transfer of ownership. Had Salford been paying for things in the usual course there would be no story there. This is a very relaxed press release: sometimes things take time. 3 months is nothing, particularly as the named new owner is taking care of business in the meantime.

That's technically correct, they don't - but surely it's just good PR to say that "a consortium led by (insert name) is hoping to get things sorted asap". No need for finer details. It gives a bit of backbone to the claims.

We have the “right” to understand how Salford will be kicking off in Super League and Toulouse will not, and to understand the circumstances around the game advancing funds to them. I am not interested in who the people taking over Salford are, or the details of any takeover, save only to the extent that their behaviour distorts - or not - the competition. 

In Cas’ case, I entirely agree. They are paying their players and the rest of their staff, and are ready to take their place. 
 

Wigan were taken over by Danson not so long ago, and we didn’t get or ask for a running commentary on that. I think in this instance it is that quirk of human nature to look at things which have similarities and look for patterns which aren’t necessarily there.

No. Why do you or anyone outside Salford and maybe the RFL need to know names? If they want to be publicly announced, fine. If not, then it's none of anyone's business.
