I said this last year and a few weeks ago, he was a cheap option, and as part of the previous coaching staff(several of them) he's partially to blame for where they were.

He's a cheap nice appointment to try and keep the fans onside.

It's always a bit sad though when a club legend gets a coaching job and tarnishes his legacy. I really can't think of many examples of players having a great career at a club and going on to be a great coach at that club too.

Oh give over. Ryan knocks that on way before the Huddersfield player arrives on the scene.

I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.

If this squad is at cap then there has been some serious squad mismanagement going on. They have a handful decent players, but no real star in any position at all.

I was thinking the same. I can only assume Burgess is taking a big chunk of that which seems bizarre looking across the quality on the field

Surely he is down as a marquee though? He can't be taking up that much.

I went through it with Cullen at warrington, he was my boyhood hero, and it killed me sitting in that night in 2008, but he should have been gone well before that. That's the same reason I disagreed with a lot of fans asking for lee Briers to come back.

See what's happened at saints with cunningham and currently with wellens

I think promoting from within only tends to work when you already have good foundations in place, having a good culture/club identity and a good core of squad. Huddersfield post Watson is far too big a rebuild for a rookie, it needs a strong and experienced coach to come in with a full reset.

Well, there's a thought that watsons rebuild never got off the ground, and the rebuild needs rebuilding

It has lived down to expectations somewhat.

This Harvey Wilson is looking a real prospect.

His Grandad Ken “Tug”  Wilson was good too. Harvey  looked good when he was on dual reg at Oldham from Wigan

I'd like to see Luke go and do a stint or three as an assistant coach here and Down Under, rather than being tethered by a sense of loyalty to an albatross of a club like this.

I think he's the kind of guy who could become a really good coach.

There certainly is a problem with Ash Golding, Terry: he's hopeless.

The match is long gone, but Adam Swift defended like it was all even.

Proper.

Chris Hill has passed his HIA, so he's available next round.

Glad that Salford have had a good game albeit against a poor Huddersfield. The fans deserve a bit of good feeling !!

There is no way Golding and Bibby should be anywhere near the starting 17 of a SL club. They would struggle to make the 13 in a couple of championship clubs to be honest.

Under Ian Watson there was a boatload of quality let go in favour of some absolute dross Watson signings.

Watson should have been frog marched out the door as soon as he wanted to get rid of Jake Wardle.

It’s like watching 2 pub teams on a Sunday morning friendly after a Saturday of 12 pints and a curry.

Disappointing to see the arrogance of some Leythers.  Never forget when Sir Decking pulled the plug a few years ago so be nice to ppl on the way up cos you will need them on the way down.

As for Salford it was good to see them revert to Rowleyball and give the fans some cheer.
