Hope they both do well.

In a numbers game, I'd bet on the union-playing kid. Youth football is bloody ruthless, and it also sounds like Phoenix is talented at running with a ball in his hands too. It's not unfair to say that his name would give him an extra boost, however minimal, were he to pursue a career in RU or RL if he made the switch. Ballsy to give that up that opportunity, so I echo your sentiments.

WHAT A GOAL!! Leyton Orient lead with a goal from halfway!!!

Technically the goal was from about a yard away from the goal line.

The O's players crossbar challenge success was far closer to the half way line.

I'm not sure the Quadruple was at the serious stage but it's over.

Well done Plymouth.

Well done Plymouth.

They deserved it today as Liverpool just didn’t have enough quality in midfield to break them down.

Still much to play for!

QUEEN'S PARK WIN!!! QUEEN'S PARK WIN!!!

That is a giant killing of epic proportions, it didn’t receive enough attention in the national media.

I know you were being lighthearted, but I don’t think Plymouth beating Liverpool’s second string at home is anywhere near as much of a shock as Queens Park winning at Ibrox tbf. The gap between the Old Firm and mid table Scottish championship is astronomical in all ways.

We'll back to the domination of the 1870s an 1880s again. What next, Preston North End reclaiming the title of Invincibles?

They got a decent cup draw again and a good old Lancashire ding dong with Burnley to come (who might be focused elsewhere on their promotion bid).

0-0, I'm calling it now.

Can't believe how Burnley is doing, conceding only 9 in 31 is insane.

Haha!

Especially in that league when it’s very difficult to be consistent.

Fascinating to watch. Panelists take turns at grilling a BBC chief over their football coverage from 1972.

On a sidenote, it's interesting the number of occasions that 'soccer' is uttered. Looks like a society that is completely at ease with using soccer. Nowadays you'd get tarnished as a Yank. Some extreme gaslighting has taken place in the last 50 years.

Soccer was incredibly common until the mid 80s, maybe a little bit later.

And the word actually originated in this country in the early years of the Football league simply as an abbreviation of 'association'.

So instead of constantly saying association football to distinguish from other forms of football, soccer was just said instead.
