We just need to raise the funds to get it built now! It's incredible what's happening with Bev Town at the moment. Never in my life did I think I would see a stadium built in my hometown, never did I think I would ever see my local club challenging for promotion to the Northern Premier League. Beavers! Beavers! How many IMG points do they get for that?

gingerjon Posted December 25, 2024 Posted December 25, 2024 Not an Arsenal fan but this is a cut above a lot of sports 'documentaries' that do the rounds. The story of how we got to the finale of the 1989 season. Hooliganism downplayed a fair bit but, other than that ... Build a man a fire, and he'll be warm for a day. Set a man on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life. (Terry Pratchett)

I always think it was Arsenal’s to throw away that year and Liverpool had an impossible fixture build up at the end of the season. The Kop despite the huge disappointment was also sporting at the end and Arsenal’s bouquet of flowers gesture did not go unnoticed. It’s hard for me not to associate that year with anything other than Hillsborough and as a Liverpool fan regularly attending matches at that time, but I understand for Arsenal fans they’d had a long period in the wilderness as far as the title had been.

RayCee Posted December 26, 2024 Posted December 26, 2024 Man Utd is suffering from years of poor management and the chickens have now well and truly come home to roost. Sir James should have invested in another Manchester team, the Salford Red Devils. Would have cost much less and they win more matches. My blog: https://rugbyl.blogspot.co.nz/ It takes wisdom to know when a discussion has run its course. It takes reasonableness to end that discussion.

gingerjon Posted December 27, 2024 Posted December 27, 2024 A rare double header day for me yesterday with Bexhill 0-2 Little Common in the morning and then Hastings 0-2 Dover in the afternoon. OriginalMrC Posted December 27, 2024 Posted December 27, 2024 I love that fans thought Ineos would be the answer to Utds problems. All they have shown is how little they understand about how to run a football club. Ruben Interim won't be given the time or money that he needs and he's inherited the worst Utd side since the early days of Fergie. Liverpool have shown there is a way back for clubs in decline. Amazingly Utds arrogance hasn't allowed them to look at how Liverpool have achieved that and done something similar. Throwing money at ###### players and constantly sacking their managers is not the answer.

Ackroman Posted December 28, 2024 Posted December 28, 2024 Manu are the best and first example of how to kill the goose that laid the golden egg. As a club they represent very little of the city and culture they proport to represent. The rest are following just as blindly and entitled.

Who would have thought that another arch example of "I bought this so technically I invented it and am actually a genius" would turn out to be an absolute incapable chopper. Well, only anyone who has been paying attention. Still, you have to say: the Glazers have played a blinder. The absolute sods. 1 Build a man a fire, and he'll be warm for a day. It would not be worth their bother to get involved with a small sport with little media attention. It may be a subconscious thought process but I'm convinced it is a reason RL isn't attractive to the more well heeled in society. I would rather invest in something small as it needs the help and hopefully lift it to a better place. 1 My blog: https://rugbyl.blogspot.co.nz/ It takes wisdom to know when a discussion has run its course. Yep and has just hired a manager who plays a style of football that the current squad will not be able to adapt to. Radcliffe is so arrogant he thought he'd be able to walk in an be a saviour overnight. I mean its fun to watch and all that but as a Liverpool fan I'd rather have a stronger Utd to compete against.
