Fair enough, I couldn't work out what the best option was or what the standard practice was for Batley. Now you've explained why uphill first works better then I completely agree! A relaxed attitude to the first half from Catalans down the hill could cause a big problem for them second half!

I'm just looking forward to a good game and hopefully a big fight from Batley, I cant see them winning but I know they'll leave nothing out on the field!

Before the Swinton game 2 weeks ago, Kevin Nicholas explained why we had got the SKY game, it was because John Kear will have a microphone on the entire game so viewers can listen in, whereas McDermott and Anderson both refused to do this.

As for the game, tough one for us and one we most certainly wont win, but with 3 key players back from injury I have a sneaky feeling we will have a real dig tonight and it wont be a cakewalk for Catalans.

Its on TV and weve nothing to lose, and from what ive heard the Batley lads are absolutely chomping at the bit for this one.

I'm sure Kear wearing the mic had a big influence on Sky picking this game. I doubt the bit about McDermott and Anderson though as don't the BBC have first pick and they were always going to pick that game.

Batley to take the game to Les Cats for 25 mins before wilting and letting in loads

That would make sense if they had picked that game, but they haven't.

Great start for the Bulldogs, not so for Gigot or Taylor.

Heartbreaker for Batley, Yaha goes 70m when Batley looked likely to score.

Duport makes a great break but comes up with a porridge of a pass. Batley now making good yards.

Catalans doing a bit of ball reefing and getting away with it.

Losing the ball on the first tackle is costing Batley dearly.

This is something in their control, should do better.

Decent half for Batley, Cats only managing to cross the line twice and one of those a breakaway.

The speed of the game should see Batley giving penalties away but I think I heard the count is 6-1 against the French.

Let's hope we don't hear any of the usual bleatings from their coach as its been completely justified and could have been more with the ball stripping.

That apart I've been very impressed with Batley. They look very fit. Their goal line defence has been outstanding and they've done some excellent work coming out of defence.

Nightmare error for Batley at the start of the 2nd half, great defensive set though.
