Aussies under pressure how long before Sutton starts giving them innocuous pens.

We all know that in a situation like this this Aussie ref will give penalties to Australia for the slightest infringement by the Tongans or anyone else who looks like they might beat the Aussies

He couldn't find a reason to deny that, as hard as he tried!

Tonga score three v aussies.

Rugby Union the only game in the world were the spectators handle the ball more than the players.

This is great stuff although I feel somewhat unclean cheering for a red and white RL team other than England.

There's a distinct silence from our Aussie friends who were prolific on GB threads. That'll do for me. Whatever the final score, Australia have been rattled by Tonga, matched or bettered in a number of facets of the game.

Even on this thread someone said this oz side would hammer GB.

Yet here they are losing against the Tongans who played well against a cold GB but got a couple of big calls to win.

Superb defence. When did you last see the Aussies so physically dominated? The Aussies will need to play some special moves to secure the win (and I suspect they will just about do that). Wonderful game.

37% second half completion rate for the Kangaroos. Remarkable. You just don’t see them play this poorly.

They are only playing as good as the Tongans are letting them.

The passion from the Tongans is carrying them through, the Aussies look the better team but without the same desire and passion.

And as has been said, the pressure is creating uncharacteristic Aussie errors.
