Just working this out normally season ends for (Lower placed teams around the 1/2nd week of September) This year October 31st (Less 1/2 this week)

Normally the new season (Far too early) kicks of the last few days of January and then lets say February 7th for most clubs.

This means normally a  4 month break max.

The new season will start end March/Start April so if a decision is made on the new club on December 1st they will have 4 months to build a team and prepare.

The new season will begin at the start of March as the SL GF cannot be pushed back due to WC2021, so it's 3 months.

just why would super league clubs want another team in the league when there funding is going to be cut anyway  and having to give a 12th team money that this season they shared between 11 clubs .

seems a good time to actually reduce the league to 10 teams and provide a bigger cut for each of the remaining teams that will have built up big debts this season .

My suspicion too.

its also up for negotiation and will more than likely be lower for 20222  so for the clubs to retain the same money they would be better off reducing the league .

it would of course have no real effect of sky as there would still be 5 games a week with more than like only 2 or 3 of them televised .

After this year many clubs can’t afford too big a drop in TV revenue so a reduction is almost inevitable unless it can be shown that admitting Toulouse could persuade a French TV company to come up with some cash based on them having 2 SL clubs. Whatever happens next is purely going to be based on TV revenues.

where will the Duck & Drake play though? Groundshare at Hunslet? Does it meet SL ground standard requirements?

It’s got some natural banking and a few spare old (emergency) chairs they can use for seating #framingthefuture

The 11 remaining clubs will vote for 11 clubs in 2021, while divvying up the 12th clubs share of the sponsorship between themselves - Greed.

Anybody remember the 80's ITV show called "Brass"? Timothy West as a penny pinching mill owner, Bradley Hardacre, that is Superleague 2020.

Certainly do, Bleep.  One of the best comedy shows of all time, in my humble opinion!

If there's a French TV contract it could also appeal to Sky (and help reduce how much their deal drops by), as it might give them extra low cost content.

If the current SL clubs get to vote on this then no team will get the 12th position, the current SL clubs will find ways to block each and every applicant as it will mean they get less share of the pot. Self interest will kick in once again and take the sport even further down the road that ends with about 4 clubs being financially viable and the rest being in the poo.

I wouldn't put it past them right now to create a Nomads XIII just for next season out of selected academy players from each of the clubs and have them be club 12. The million finds it way back to them despite technically going to sustain the entity apparently required to meet the minimum Sky requirement.
