What is wrong with that pitch? First home game of the season and it looks worse than my local union clubs who have played since September. Union players love scrums and resetting scrums, so they always play in mud…

One of my best mates is a Leyther, he always tells me the result depends on the Leigh that turn up. They are either outstanding, or shocking. That fits with what I have seen over the years. This Leigh looks like the shocking Leigh so far.

Wakefield play football there, also there have been a number of junior and senior cup finals played there recently
