I would think Hastings has to be included he has been on of the best halfbacks in the nrl this season.

I think Tom Burgess, Mikołaj Olędzki and Luke Thompson are definites for selection and I think you need two more in a World Cup squad.

From the Combined Nations team you would think that Matt Cooper and Matty Lees are in the mix although I would also be looking at Ryan Sutton and Chris Hill as well.

Lees is not good enough; couldn’t break an egg at the international level with the ball in hand. 

Burgess, Thompson, Oledzki, Hill and one of Cooper/Sutton for me now as the 5 props.

Aye, and that was the first game that Bennett experimented with Bateman in the centre, I didn't like the pick then and after the game said "thank God that's over with" then Bennett picked him there for the next 7 games🙄

A wild stab in the dark would say NRL, then SL then some from Championship and NRL reserve grades and a few from Elite 1 and League 1

Italy, Greece, Lebanon, nearly all Aussie reserve grade with the odd exception of first grade.

The only reason we have a World cup of 16 teams, is the very flexible 'Heritage' rulings and the big number of born Aussies that have learned and played the game there, without them it would be a 5 nations tournament.

The ‘heritage’ ruling is not and has never been ‘flexible’. It’s Grandparents place of birth, end of….

Wow, who would have thunk it?

There will also be players from various domestic leagues. I'll be interested to see the overall contribution of each comp to the player total.
