On a matter of housekeeping for MarkLP, there's a piece on Love Rugby League where Brett Ferres confirms he has left Fev and is looking for a new club.

He sounds a bit disgruntled about how his time with the club finished though reading between the lines it's probably not hard to see why things were a bit up in the air towards the backend of the season in terms of 2023 contracts given there had to be a doubt about whether we would have the same coach.

Think we must be done, but hopefully kept a bit back in case of injuries. I'd have maybe preferred another winger and maybe half back, but just can't see us going with a squad of over 27. Pack looks much better this year.

More news Luke Gale signs for the cougars on a one year deal and apparently  he can’t wait to see what the Championship brings this season and is determined to play a big role in the West Yorkshire side making it into the play-offs for a potential shot at Super League.

As there isn’t one standout team within the Championship the squad we have got, we will definitely be pushing at the right end of the table.

For me, it’s a big gamble signing these older super league players, on probably big wages. Might work out, like it did with Moors, but also might not like Ferris and JSL.

Trouble with half backs you need a pack who will give you room to play. Not sure what their pack is like.

I’d agree, and someone mentioned this before. It’s having a powerful pack that matters most, it gives the others room to play, and I’d say that ours is looking great on paper. Springer and Yei look like beasts, and we’ve got plenty of strength in depth as well.

Indeed. It's hard to pick 17 without leaving out one or two players that you really want to include!

Looking at the numbers allocated, I'd guess they are of fairly slim relevance to the likelihood of being in the 17 for the season opener.
