Maybe no one cares that much ?

To be fair, we had a 20 page thread.  But it got locked.

Exactly, do we need another now if folk have said what they had to say?

If people don't want to add anything then they don't have to.  But it is a significant Rugby League event and we are in the build up week, I think having a thread on it is fair enough.

Indeed, surely we don't have all our discussions end a week before events?

I haven't given NRL Round 1 much thought with both the Super League and the WCC beforehand.  Now, I expect to chat about the Vegas games.

I'm not sure why the old thread was locked but it's a pity. It was a pretty good thread.

People had started wanging on about politics. We don't allow that in the RL section. Instant thread-killer.

By the way, there are plenty of reaction videos to this promo. This is just one, chosen at random.

Whether the old gimmers sneer or not, social media influencers are a useful resource.

They have no idea who Russell Crowe is .. ha ha!

I hope the Australian fans stay for the full double header and not just the match involving their team or it will look very empty.

So is a colonoscopy.

It will be interesting to see if the event can get a hashtag or two in the US top 10. That would be a real social media success.

I still think there is room for a few more 45 second themed video releases as warm up content. Strong backing music with some great clips and hashtag them. Such as #NRLnopads (big collisions and tackles), #NRLtakeoff (spectacular winger dives and leaps), #NRLsensational (individual plays like chip and chase) and #NRLtrytime (great ball in hand trys) where the public can get behind each of these individual hashtags during the match.

This is the biggest start to a season which I can remember.

In saying all that, I am probably most anticipating that very first hit up from the kick off. If the NRL were to pump the right players up, we can probably assure the yanks will get some sensational hits after every restart.

will they be showing score updates from the other games during live play? that's all i care about.

Genuine US broadcasts, which I assume this won't be, all have a lovely ticker across the bottom of the screen giving you scores and news updates from around the sporting world.

In real time.

They're great. Love them.
