Hull KR continue to improve and grow:

Hull KR are delighted to launch a major consultation exercise on its ambitious proposals to regenerate land surrounding Sewell Group Craven Park.

The plans, which will be the most significant changes to the stadium footprint, since its original completion in 1989 will now go to public consultation.

The Club’s proposals are set to enhance the area with investment into better facilities and amenities, to promote health and wellbeing across East Hull and the wider city, while helping to future-proof the Club’s ambitions, both on and off the pitch.

In doing so, Hull KR aims to generate a positive impact for local communities and the wider city through their proposals, which would contribute significantly to wider rejuvenation efforts ongoing in East Hull by Hull City Council.

If successful, the proposals would see significant investment into sport and leisure facilities, with the development of three training pitches, with one available for public use; new outdoor sporting facilities and the rejuvenation of the Waudby Centre.

Proposals would also bring forward two, large-scale retail stores, which would be occupied by leading UK brands, in addition to the development of a retail terrace, open, public spaces, the refurbishment of the Waudby Centre, and adequate car parking facilities to support the masterplan. Some initial future enhancements to the Sewell Group Craven Park stadium itself have also been outlined within the plans.

Looks cool, so basically the team gets a new High Performance Centre at the south east corner of the stadium, with two full size pitches and a half-pitch next to it (in addition to the new 3G pitch next door). Will be great for talent attraction, just what we need.

Plus the local community gets a refurbished leisure centre, where we can base Hull KR Foundation, Hull KR netball and the wheelchair team, another full size pitch for community clubs, and a load of other sports facilities including some indoor padel tennis courts. This is going to be amazing.

This is basically Peter Deakin’s Bradford Bulls and Saracens “community-led club growth strategy” on steroids. Far, far better than us getting another stand. This is how you lay foundations, love what this team are doing.

We really are laying down solid foundations which will see the club really cement there place as one of the top clubs in super league.

This club is not recognisable as the club i first started following in the mid 1980s, after the dark days of the club I could never have dreamed of getting to where we are now.

Where it will all sit in relation to existing surroundings.

Good that it still leaves room for the south stand to be redeveloped in future.

Only criticism is the move to RU....sad times.

Is the half sized pitch to prepare for when they might face Bradford at Odsal?

Brilliant foresight

At least we now know why the new backers joined

This hasn't been kept a secret, We knew that they would be involved in this regeneration. Who cares? If they make money, plus the club has a more sustainable future then what does it matter?

I'm sure the club will also be making longer term revenue from this scheme.

However, if it turns out that the board members make money and Rovers aren't more sustainable becasue of this, then I will come back and complain 🙂

This is the kind of thing that can help the club grow and be consistently challenging. It will attract fans and players and might also give them the edge when they are trying to sign juniors for their academy.

New CGI flyover thingy on the proposed Hull KR development...

It's good to see that the stadium pitch is now a rugby league one, althjough unfortuntely it seems that we will still be training as a XV's team, as will the Academy pathways. 🤣🤣🤣

Personally the thing I'm looking forward to most is the change in the weather. Hull hasn't looked like that video since the famous drought of August 1976! Always knew climate change would have an upside 🤣 🤣 🤣
