I have, out of nothing more than mild curiosity, purchased the album 'L' by "oh no!" Steve Hillage. I will report on its dreadfulness or otherwise in due course.

Actual listening involved Air - Everybody Hertz. A mixed bag of remixes. Mostly enjoyable, but a few stinkers too.

And a free'n'legal download; Calidostopia, by Markus Popp (aka Oval). Various Latin American singers, backed by electronics and oddly deconstructed/reconstructed acoustic guitar sounds. Only a quick listen, interesting but not made my mind up yet. You can get it (in MP3 or FLAC) via links on the artist's website at http://markuspopp.me/

A bit of proper '80s music, despite only being released this month, a very impressive new album by OMD, English Electric.

Twas album of the day on 6 music the other day.  I was rather impressed and surprised (as well as having a bit of a dislocated feeling, desperately seeking hair gel and cavalry shirt).  I didn't like them very much back in the day, but I was wrong.

Listening to Brian Mathew's Sounds Of The Sixties in the car this morning and a record came on that always has me turn up the volume and sing along, Yesterday Man by Chris Andrew.

Great foot stomper of a chorus.

Joni Mitchell - Chalk Mark in a Rain Storm. One of the guest vocalists is Billy Idol!

Bobby Womack - The Poet II. Takes a brave man to wear a red leather suit and those glasses.

Quantum Jump - Quantum Jump. Has not aged particularly well.
