Alfredo Quintana.

Goalkeeper for the Portuguese national handball team. He suffered a cardiac arrest four days ago in training and his death was announced today.

He was 32.

The memsahib's brother. After 5 decades of acute/chronic schizophrenia.... he is now at peace.

Closer to home, they are dropping like flies.  Lost my sister  6 months ago (non-Covid, Parkinsons, late onset MS etc) , former work colleague a year ago (ill but Covid saw him off) plus several others. I guess its age-group related. Once you get to your 70s, there are many fewer years ahead than behind, and more Sympathy cards than Christmas cards. Can't change that, but to see some leaving us at a much earlier age is such a shame. Carpe Diem, everyone and yes, that means YOU!

My 12 year old daughters, next door neighbours Jack Russel, Harry. She was 16. A very lovely friendly fun female dog, the swear filter will not let me use the B word.

A few newspaper websites have this story but I won't link them here.

The body of an Indonesian boy, 8, cut from the inside of a crocodile after he was killed while swimming.

I mean, what the actual ? I think that is one of the most harrowing things I've ever read. There is even a pixelated video on one news sites FFS.

Those sorts of things happen in Australia too.  Sharks and crocodiles. Although we never show the body extraction in the media.

Famous test he played in . He was decent pace , bustled in and could swing it out from close in to the stumps . That’s very sad news
