Sad news. I saw the Upstarts fairly recently and he was 100% the same as when I saw them in the early 80's.

Just been listing the times I saw them and records I used to have. Must admit I underated them myself. I had 'Upstart' on green vinyl and Teenage Warning on red vinyl. Wish I'd kept them....

But he never wavered for a second - even when it kicked off at gigs. I still don't agree with him on many, if not most things, but he was as genuine as they come.
