Sunday’s game and the cold spell. Could it be off?

Just praying that the game goes ahead on Sunday. It’s been bitterly cold this last few days, the back garden is frozen solid. The forecast is not getting much warmer and Saturday night/Sunday morning it’s expected to be as low as -3. Is there any cover/protection on the pitch at BC anyone know?

Just hope the pitch is playable and the game goes ahead. Can’t ever recall been as excited and expectant over a season watching York for many many years as this. Yes, it’s a tough league, yes we will have to hit the ground running, yes they will be more defeats than there was last season and yes,I’m confident that we can survive and be competitive in every game we play this year.

Let the good times roll.

Due to rise as high as 6c on Sunday. Should be fine.

It will be like a warm summer day for us Canadians.   The Wolfpack is coming for ya.  The Canadians are coming.

Our Canadian boys are coming and we are going for the win.

Sky will certainly want the game to go ahead, so I guess they will be doing their bit to make sure the pitch is playable. Having said that I have seen quite a few games which should have been postponed but went ahead because they were televised. We all want the game to go ahead, but player safety has to be paramount.

Not forecast to drop below freezing until 10pm tomorrow, but  for 12 hours from then temperatures drop below freezing to as low as -4 around 5 am according to BBC. Providing there is a bit of give, between now and tomorrow evening, and the covers can stay on, there may be an outside chance of the game going ahead. Be a massive shame if it is off.

If the game is called off and the weather getting milder by Tuesday will we be made to play the game midweek as Toronto are at Rochdale and I presume that there will not be going back to Canada to come back again.

They should be made to go back and travel, we'd have to if it was in Canada!!!

It won’t be. Ground quite soft now and temperatures increasing. Saturday night will be cold but as long as the pitch covered overnight it’s going to be much milder on Sunday. In fact, perfect conditions for a game of rugby league. Toronto won’t be going to Canada until they’ve played all their away games. Bizarre but true!
