Why have twp not looked at gigot?

Spent up?

The trouble is they would most probably have to get rid of two of their 'average' player's to afford him and if what we are being informed is true that the player's are on inflated saleries there is little chance of that happening.

Top flight Rugby Union clubs generally have around 40+ players on the roster with double and sometimes triple coverage in most positions.

Leicester Tigers 1st XV is 47 players atm.  Many reasons for this:

1. Multiple Cup Competitions

2.  Internationals

3.  Regular Season

There is no break for international matches in the club season so clubs go without their best players during Six Nations, November Internationals, etc.

They need the bodies to be able to fill those spots for 22 rds in the regular season + a minimum 6rds in the Heineken Cup or Euro Challenge Cup + league playoffs.

Not forgetting that in RU the front row is a specialist position and players have to be qualified to play there. So clubs will have to carry x number of spare props and hookers in case of injury and the things you’ve listed above.

Similarities between Western Reds and the Toronto Wolfpack with an unsustainable business model and without exchange rate issues...

Quote

"There is no question that the financial modelling of the Western Reds was flawed," Sackson said.

"There’s an argument that arises quite often that the Western Reds failed, so rugby league will fail in the west.

"What people have to understand is there are a number of reasons why the Reds eventually folded here.

"Firstly, it was an unsustainable business model. There were the inflated player payments during the time of the Super League civil war versus the establishment. That put player payments through the roof.

"The Western Reds had to pay for the incoming teams, coming into Perth - they had to pay for flights and accommodation for teams and then they had to fly them home.

"We had to field a reserve grade team and fly them out here and home. That added up. It was an extraordinary cost."

The dominant ideas in society are always and everywhere the ideas of the ruling class. And always and everywhere they portray us as stupid, untrustworthy with bad motives. Show us respect sir. We gave you everything progressive there is. We gave you democracy. We demand some too.

There were 17.4m people who voted to leave the European Union.

"Any attempt to try to cast their vote aside, as if they didn’t mean it or didn’t understand the consequences, whereas everybody else did, is a bit of a slur on the individuals who took the time to vote, many of them for the first time

Or so I'm told

He’s not an under-21 Canadian so how does he fit under the cap? Maybe they are swapping/offloading someone else to get Gigot.

This makes sense as He's a very good utility back and isn't at a club right now. How they will get him on the Cap, I'm not sure, although given he's not at a club now maybe he will sign for the season for a moderate salary? Does anyone think they may move for Escare too?

Could it be a 2 season deal with his salary back loaded to the 2nd season?

The salary cap doesn't let you do that

Doesnt it? I'm sure I remember seeing clubs do that before.

I think I remember this happening at Wigan when Fielden went there which was possibly under different rules.

The last time I read the salary cap rules - sometime last year - it basically stopped you backloading a contract. Yes you can have normal year on year increases but not say a 20%/80% split

I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.

It will simply be good to have him back in the game.  Whilst he has his issues, on his day he is an exciting player to watch and an important member of the French squad.
