Hela Wigmen Posted April 1, 2020 Posted April 1, 2020 I thought 2005 was better than 2003 and I’d rather see that one again.
Futtocks Posted April 1, 2020 Posted April 1, 2020 Weekend. Sorted. Let me never fall into the vulgar mistake of dreaming that I am persecuted whenever I am contradicted. Ralph Waldo Emerson
Mark S Posted April 1, 2020 Posted April 1, 2020 1996 was a great game. Robbie Paul running the show.

meast Posted April 1, 2020 Posted April 1, 2020 This can't be right surely? The BBC hates RL and has some agenda against it doesn't it? Huddersfield Giants Supporters Association
Eddie Posted April 2, 2020 Posted April 2, 2020 Mark Champman is a great presenter (by BBC standards), does anyone know if he’s actually a RL fan?

I'd always assumed he was because of his presenting style. According to his Wiki page he's an Hull FC fan https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_Chapman_(broadcaster) 100% League 0% Union Just because I don't know doesn't mean I don't understand

I think he's primarily a Football fan, but also got into RL while studying at the University of Hull. He certainly enjoys the game. bazzzz65 Posted April 4, 2020 Posted April 4, 2020 I went to all those finals The Wigan v Hull was the best in my opinion. Also in reply to another thread. Whatever happened to Mornflake Oats and John Bull beer kits?
barnyia Posted April 4, 2020 Posted April 4, 2020 That warm feeling of hearing Ray French's voice! Saturday afternoons as a kid! Same when I hear the football results!
DavidM Posted April 4, 2020 Posted April 4, 2020 I really like those traditional tops . Smart and striking
Futtocks Posted April 4, 2020 Posted April 4, 2020 I bet Nathan Graham's skipping this bit of the programme... Let me never fall into the vulgar mistake of dreaming that I am persecuted whenever I am contradicted. Ralph Waldo Emerson
Hela Wigmen Posted April 4, 2020 Posted April 4, 2020 This is how I view Cup Final day. Bright sunshine, packed crowd and a spectacle. What we have now is a shadow of the Challenge Cup.

barnyia Posted April 4, 2020 Posted April 4, 2020 The difference in atmosphere between the last two games is amazing, is that the difference between all seater stadium and standing? I've no idea! Maybe the BBC don't film the crowd as much now?
Hela Wigmen Posted April 4, 2020 Posted April 4, 2020 From memory, this Warrington v Hull game was all over till Gidley went off with an eye injury.

Sound can make a huge difference to the perceived atmosphere. A great set of finals, topped off with a tribute to Frank Myler.
