If you can fly out this Tuesday (Manchester to Beziers) and return on 5th October you can do the trip for £27 (no real luggage, basically an allowance of a pencil case) with Ryanair. Similar flights for a Toulouse based final the week after were £6.42 last week - almost tempted me to book on the off chance.

Some great deals from Manchester to Carcassonne on Ryan Air.

Fly out Friday morning return Monday.

Carcassonne is a fantastic place and just a short train journey of 45 minutes from Toulouse.

can concur with that as did Stansted to Carcassonne last year and got train for the game week before covid shutdown, beautiful walled city and airport is only 10 mins bus ride into the city

Think about this , we are contracted to sky

Sky have no broadcast or transmission rights in France. The French broadcaster, BEIN, withdrew from televising Catalans games part way through the season.

Batley and Halifax both progressed to the semi-finals as the Betfred Championship play-offs got underway; watch both semi-finals live on Sky Sports on Saturday, October 2

Does anyone know if there is any prize money for finishing in the playoffs this year?

Under the 8s system, it was something like £1.8M for the promoted team, £750k for 5th, £650k for 6th, £500k for 7th and £450k for 8th.

Nobody seems to know what funding is for next year, but would the prize money for this year be taken from this year's TV deal, or paid out of next year's allocation?

I think funding will still be based on previous year's finishing position which for those in the playoffs is decided by results in the playoffs rather than league standing. It's slightly different this year with 2 teams rather than 1 going out in each round up to the final so the 2 losers from last week may class as equal 5th, the 2 losers from the coming weekend equal 3rd and losers in the GF 2nd. Relegated team will likely get highest funding.

sorry to jump in your Batley site musings....

If you guys are planning on coming:

Getting into France is still only allowed if you have been double vaccinated as the UK is still on the French Amber list. i.e. unless you live in France you can forget it if not fully vaxxed.

Read this ==> Important link you should read

Getting into the stadium you will need a pass sanitaire.

This can be one of the following (points 2 and 3 are really only valid if you live here):

- Presentation of the vaccination certificate with the complete vaccination QR Code (Digital or paper)

- Presentation of a certificate of recovery from Covid-19 (over 15 days and less than 6 months)

- Presentation of an RT-PCR or negative antigen test dating back less than 72 hours.

As of September 30, this control will be extended to young people over 12 years old and maintained for the adult public.

Double vaccinated only (unless you have had the one dose job) , but remember there has to be a time delay after the 2nd jab before you can travel.

  • 7 days after the 2nd injection for double injection vaccines (Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca);
  • 28 days after injection for vaccines with a single injection (Johnson & Johnson);
  • 7 days after the injection for vaccines in people with a history of Covid (1 single injection).

I hope that helps

Hopefully some of you will make it

I'll just add that the NHS app QR code is recognised in France to demonstrate your vaccination status

I'm still buzzing after Saturday's game and this may turn out to be our last game of the season, but it is one I'm looking forward to.

True, PM, but I can't afford Sky, what with being a pensioner and all that. And they wouldn't dare to relegate it to Mix with the sub-standard stuff, would they?
