I think it’s recorded as 24-0, hence looking like we played. There are two more weekends and then into the play offs - semi finals and then grand final I think Ah right, yeah it's down on the website as something like that. 1
Eddie Posted July 22, 2023 Posted July 22, 2023 E-Programme for today’s ladies match in case of interest. https://online.fliphtml5.com/spifr/zoub/#p=1 In the East RL men’s league there is also a top of the table clash, Bedford Tigers A v Anglian Vipers. 1
Eddie Posted July 31, 2023 Posted July 31, 2023 Hull FC are doing another development day in Norfolk on 9th August, a great opportunity for year 9-11 lads in the area to try League with some top quality coaching. https://www.facebook.com/100076183794499/posts/pfbid02me251JNawcHp8QuwkXH5vWa25BmCnX1scmZi5K1haDvBkmZPaSCLRTTbbWCh26ZRl/ 8

Eddie Posted August 11, 2023 Posted August 11, 2023 It was a great evening in Wymondham today as the Vipers played local Union side Beccles under the lights in a rugby league friendly ahead of next Saturday’s East RL grand final. A crowd of over 150 gathered to see the Vipers win 58-28, but the score didn’t matter as some great rugby was played and the Beccles lads had a good first experience of rugby league. Hopefully some of them will want to play league next summer now they’ve had a taste of it. 10

Expansion is not impossible as some here like to say, best of luck to the continuing efforts down there, 150 + is decent - from a small seed a great oak can be grown. Eddie Posted June 18, 2024 Posted June 18, 2024 Anglia News’ sports reporter Donovan Blake was filming / interviewing at the Vipers’ Ladies training session last night and it will be on their Thursday night news programme, in case of interest to those of you in the East TV region. 9

I think this has been done, on and off, for a long time. Scunthorpe have had amateur teams for at least 35 years but don’t know about any others. Hull have been doing development in Cumbria iirc. 1

Eddie Posted August 8, 2024 Posted August 8, 2024 It’s a big weekend for the Vipers. Saturday sees the men’s team take on Bedford Tigers in the East RL semi final at Wymomdham. The weather is looking good and a decent crowd is expected. The winners will take on Hemel in the final a week later, also at Wymomdham. On Sunday the ladies travel to Hull to play the Hull KR ladies development team as an opener to the Hull KR v Leigh ladies Championship game. The team have just finished second in the East RL comp. This will be a great experience for them and they’re really looking forward to it. 10 1
Eddie Posted August 8, 2024 Posted August 8, 2024 And to add, Zac Hunter who played for the Vipers in the 2023 season has just been selected to make his NSW Cup debut tomorrow, in the Eels v Panthers game at the Commbank Stadium. Brilliant news for him. 7

Brilliant news for him. What?? Is he an Aussie or a homegrown player? Huge news if he is homegrown, that is arguably on par with SL standard. 1

No he’s Australian, came through their system, he was in England for a few months last summer so played for the Vipers while here. Edited August 8, 2024 by Eddie 2
Eddie Posted August 12, 2024 Posted August 12, 2024 Sadly Bedford forfeited the game on Saturday so the Vipers progress to the East RL final this Saturday, against Hemel at Wymomdham. It should be a great afternoon and if anyone is in the area you’re more than welcome to come down, the bar will be open. The Vipers ladies’ trip to Hull was a great day, a tour of the stadium was followed by a 46-12 win against Hull KR’s second team, and then watching the first team play Leigh. HKR were great hosts and the Vipers ladies were buzzing about the whole day. 2

They had an SCL game on Friday, this was their second team, couldn’t get enough players. I doubt it will have any impact on their L1 bid. 2

The league 1 side will be a new club with a whole new set of players and staff so doubt it would have any impact on the application which will solely based on whether they meet the criteria for league 1 entry.
