Warrington v Castleford,Cas fans coach bricked.

Recommended Posts

First of all I am neither a Cas or Warrington fan so I am purely neutral here.

And sadly I believe that the coach carrying Castleford fans got the windows smashed by being bricked last night in Warrington.

Now as a neutral let me say that I don’t think for one single second Warrington fans actually did this.I mean would Warrington or indeed any other club fans take a brick with them to the game, leave it at the stand and pick it up after the game so they can lob it at the opposite fans coach?

No.They would not.

My opinion I think the #### who did this were NOT Warrington fans. They are the same #### who will go round smashing bus shelters at night,or commit any other crimes.Warrington fans or indeed fans of other teams simply don’t do this.In fact they rightly hate it.

I feel sorry for the Warrington fans who have had their name dragged through the mud by these low life #### and of course the Cas fans who had their coach smashed up and had to wait for a replacement coach.

I hope these low life pond #### are soon caught and I hope if they are they get the book thrown at them by the Courts.

We don't need to stress too much about whether they are fans or not. We can't keep making out people are not real fans when they cause trouble. The club and police need to do what they can to make it safe for all fans.

Blimey that isn’t good. Wire must be worried as well because if it’s going too put fans off from travelling there then Wire win lose cash from gate receipts and bar takings.

I dunno, as mentioned,  all teams have groups of idiots,  and they'll continue to turn up, like the cas idiots stood outside the club shop last night singing "daryl Powell is a sex offender"

Whoever they are, they are #### and I feel very sorry for the Cas fans and the driver this happened to.

I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.

Not the first time at Warrington, I know it happens elsewhere but Warrington club and Cheshire police need to make plans to deter these idiots, on a side issue there has been a growing problem in Warrington (in the centre and other parts) of large groups of teenagers causing damage, so as above the police and club need to prepare for it spilling over to match days.

The brick throwing could injure women and children though so I think this needs addressing.

It seems an issue in that area as Liverpool fans have a reputation for this also.

I'm sorry, what?

Wrong on so many levels.

For 'Liverpool fans' also see Leeds, Man U, Chelsea and countless others. Also these are football clubs, or are you still peddling the old myth that any issues at rugby must be football fans?

It's an issue at many grounds - I've witnessed anti social behaviour at almost all SL grounds, barring Hull KR. That's not to say it doesn't happen there, i've just never seen it for myself. It really needs addressing.

No they were rl fans obviously. I am a football fan also so I definitley not.

I was thinking about the incidents of the Liverpool supporters attacking the Manchester city buses.

There’s a pic posted in the game thread of some of the Warrington fans giving it the big un to the coach, one of them is very clearly carrying a drum, surely he must be known to the club or other wire fans

It's wrong to say all teams have an element, it has never happened at Batley.

Batley fans have never caused trouble towards fans from another team, ever?

Good to know.

No, I honestly don't think so, ever.

I think because it is a more older fan base and all of the people in the area where the coaches leave, are part of the Asian community. It just doesn't happen here.

Not just Batley but any other sporting club 'in that area', which apparently is a 20 mile radius. So no trouble ever at Leeds, Bradford, Halifax, Huddersfield, Barnsley or Wakefield.

Yup.

It's entirely consistent and not at all ridiculous.

Yes you are correct, especially the targeting of coaches to this extent.

The West Yorkshire Police are very efficient at crowd control. The cases in Liverpool and Warrington there were no Police whatsoever.

I like Warrington but I aren't going to condone what happened or engage in whataboutery. It happened there so you should deal with it before a child is seriously injured.

I probably wont deal with it as I live in south London. I certainly hope the police and the club will.

Like every other poster, I am disgusted at this incident. Unfortunately, because of the costs involved, few , if any, clubs are prepared to actually pay for a Police presence and rely on stewards. A few years ago, before I retired, a drunken fool, supposedly supporting my team, thought it was okay to shout and swear abuse at Widnes fans whilst sitting in a section of the HJ predominantly seating parents and young kids. I watched for a minute or so waiting for the stewards to take action before having to threaten the culprit with arrest——- I don’t particularly blame the stewards but without a proper Police presence, this kind, and worse behaviour will continue . I believe money for private cost bobbies is money well spent
