A few years ago Warrington were 21-0 down at half time to Wakefield and won 22-21. 43 points, so doesn't quite top the nrl game.

I was able to download some raw data for all NRL games since 2009 but it didn't include HT scores. It was primarily for use by betting shops and focussed on the pre-game betting and stuff. I registered at Rugby League Project and when they sign me up I'll ask if they have the necessary data. But ... even back 20 years, a lot of their games don't have the HT scores.

Without the HT scores this would be almost impossible to work out. (unless there was a match summary showing the minute in which each try was scored but that would take a lot of reading and, if they had that data, then surely they would also have the HT scores.)

In 1998 Penrith were leading North Queensland 26-0 at half time and lost 36-28 so 62 points scored at one end of the ground and 2 points at the other.

In the category of "lowest points scored at one end" there was a Parra v St george game in 2006 where there was only 1 point scored (by Parra) at one end. It was 0-0 at HT and St George won 8 - 1

I seem to remember going to low scoring Hull home game about 8 or so years ago where they lost 0-7 to Widnes. If I remember rightly it was an unconverted try, a penalty goal and a drop goal. Seem to think it was only 0-2 at half time.

I am finding this discussion far more interesting than any about playing the ball,scrums,league structures etc. What does  this say about me?

Any road,I seem to remember in the early 70s a cup match (Leigh,Huyton?)ended 2-2 and the replay finished 2-0.

Anyone remember,or have I got the scores and/or teams wrong? Certainly was a low scoring encounter.

Another low scoring game, of quite recent vintage, was the 2018 Championship "Million Pound Game" at Lamport Stadium, Toronto, when London Broncos beat the Toronto Wolfpack 4-2.  And, though I was there, I can not now remember if all the points were scored at one end.  This game also signalling the exit of Paul Rowley stage left, soon to be followed by the entrance of Brian MacD. stage right.

St Helens beat Celtic Crusaders in 2009 4-0 in Bridgend with a single first-half try. 

 

P.S. another one I remember was 1993 Wakefield v Leigh.

It was 8-0 to Wakefield when I lost reception of radio Leeds at Sheffield whilst driving down to Cardiff.

When I checked the final score on teletext on arrival it was 8-41. Gobsmacked!

You're close. Leigh v Huyton was 8-8 and on that day Hudds v Salford drew 0-0 and Doncaster and Rochdale drew 5-5. In the replay Leigh won 2-0 and Salford won their replay 11 - 5 with Doncaster beating Rochdale 4-3.

If anything that might be a record for draws - 3 out of 8 games in that round.

That round must have been played in waist-deep mud. The average game total was under 13 points.

2-0 at half time, 4-2 at full time so one kick at one end, the other two down the other end.

In the early 90s, Warrington lost 2 consecutive games without conceding a try. 3-2 at home to Hull and 4-2 away at Oldham. Both games were live on itv on the Saturday afternoon slot.
