I'm due to be going to the Batley V Sheffield game next Wednesday evening and wondered if anyone had any recommendations.

Not been to an away game at Mt Pleasant previously, though I've been to Batley to play Batley Boys. Always heard good things about the matchday and thought where better to ask for what to expect?

I’d echo the above. Good seating or stand behind the posts. Plenty of free on street parking.

It's a walk uphill to the ground if coming from the station,  but is a good community club with decent catering.

Thanks, I'm looking forward to it as I've heard good things. Looks like it might rain unfortunately, though that will probably level the game up a bit more in Sheffield's favour!

When I saw the thread title I thought you were asking for advice about where to take a girl on a date.

I went out with a girl from Athens at uni and took her to watch Town at Widnes on a freezing night .

I'd highly recommend the pies. They are sourced from a local farm shop. Not just good for a sports stadium, as good as you'll find anywhere, at reasonable prices to boot.😉

It's great you are going. I really enjoyed my first time there 20 years ago and supported the club ever since.

I usually sit in the main stand at the right hand side looking downhill. 

The food is very good. 

I hope you enjoy the game. You always have interesting views so hopefully you will post about it.

I think I've heard about her - she came from Greece, she had a thirst for knowledge.

She wasn't studying sculpture at St Martin's College by any chance?

Such a shame they cut the verse about an away defeat on an open terrace in the cold at Naughton Park from Common People! 😆
