There have been plenty outside the top flight averaging 3k over the years in recent times. Leigh have done it multiple times. Widnes, Bradford, Toulouse, Toronto too off the top of my head and I'm sure Wakey probably will next year too.

We will have to Just wait and see gubs on crowds tbh, but I’d guess you will get a drop even if it’s a little one before a rise.

Samy Kibula to Cas. Talks of DR between Batley and Cas.

Are c@s having money problems? Their signings ain’t very good at all at minute they’ve probably a worse team than Last season.

Not entirely sure but the least I remember was 1200ish at the LSV during the wonderful "licensed years".

Once the attendances start to go down in the Championship they will continue to do so Rover, UNTIL the RFL realise that if they don't want the semi-pro game to totally collapse they will have to get rid of these IMG ideas.

Possibly. Kibula will be an under the radar signing. Full time playing he could be immense tbh.

Never rated him myself but full time training might improve him. Similar type of player to gadwin we’ve got and I’ve no idea how gadwin isn’t a starting prop in SL.

Be careful what you say about RL there's some on here can't see what's coming with the lower leagues . SL is all they care about like their chairmen.

He was full time at Warrington, Wigan and Newcastle, he reminds me of Lingard at United where people still talked about his potential then you realised he was in his late 20’s, Kibula played well for swinton in odd games but you always had the feeling it’s when he could be bothered

Cas are reducing the wage bill (in view of funding cuts) but also trying to sort the mess of a squad - filled with old and past it Radford signings (getting shut of some of these players early may well have cost a fair bit).

Tbf considering the above.  I'm okayish with the squad, bearing in mind there's no relegation threat next year.  Probably a sensible approach.

Its basically year 1 of an attempted squad rebuild.  Signing younger players with something to proof to replace:

- highly paid players who in the main offered very little or simply weren't physically up to super league anymore such as Fonua, Edwards, Fariamo, Widdop, Turner, Vete, Miller (probably stuck with the last two though!), and:

- perpetually injured players who we can't get/keep on the field (IE Evalds, Mclelland, to a lesser extent Eden)

The Kabula signing though is very much a trial/project signing, bring him back into a full time environment, loan him back out and option for next year if he goes well.

Ok thanks mate for the update just thought you were trying to save money with the signings you’re making.

Cas announced they were cutting back on squad expenditure. Maybe they have worked out, like Salford, that they are “safe”.

If traditional relegation still existed then I don’t think they would do what they are doing.

Prob explains why lingard got job too they can now afford to take risks, he is a decent coach though but not one id of thought c@s would have gone for tbh if they were aiming top 6 etc but a rebuild and lingard makes far more sense.

No worries mate.  You are right they are trying to save money.

There's a bit more too it than that rebuild wise.

Hopefully a few of the signings will exceed expectations.  But to be honest based on the playing budget  finishing anywhere above 10th next year would probably be considered an achievement!

After our league game at yours last year I posted we should have signed him , he was immense that day , as you say , with some quality full time training there could be a very good RL player there

Don't want to jinx it but I think Cas have nailed the quota signings they have made for next season.

One of Leighs big wins in getting promoted and subsequently rising up SL was getting massive output from what would've been relatively cheap overseas players - particularly Amone and Ipape. At the time I remarked both would be quality signings for the club despite their lack of first-grade experience downunder and I would absolutely consider Putt, Namo (ACL recovery pending) and El-Zakhem in the same category. Horne will also improve as gets an extended run.

Sami Kibula is really good ... just needs to last longer minutes.

Thanks guy's for confirming my predictions that we are moving away from an on field sporting contest with this IMG charade, if you happen to be in the relegation zone next season (but I have no pretence that you will be) I hope you enjoy those games that will be of very little consequence what the result is, going to be real exciting isn't it!

And that of course makes a farce of the competition- not sure what makes Salford “safe” on the grading system, and Cas looking to put out a ###### poor team so they can throw money at the ground to try to get a tick in the box - a promise they made first time round with franchising and appear to have done very little ground wise since then

Harry some still won't have it and if you say anything you get laughed at.
