Bedford Roughyed Posted November 26, 2024 Posted November 26, 2024 Quite a few interviews and bits and pieces on youtube. 2 With the best, thats a good bit of PR, though I would say the Bedford team, theres, like, you know, 13 blokes who can get together at the weekend to have a game together, which doesnt point to expansion of the game. Point, yeah go on!
wroteforluck87 Posted November 28, 2024 Posted November 28, 2024 Is there Roughyeds fans predictor league on the ouRLeague app usually? If not I'll set one up when the league starts if anyone is interested? 1
jroyales Posted November 28, 2024 Author Posted November 28, 2024 I'm up for it. Just pass on the details as and when. 1
jroyales Posted November 28, 2024 Author Posted November 28, 2024 When i first started watching the Yeds all those years ago, there were billboards everywhere advertising the coming games at Watersheddings and the Latics. Somehow the club has to get into the Oldham media to sell the club. I feel our biggest selling point is through all of our amateur clubs, another would be the schools and what about doctor's surgeries, plenty of people standing about waiting for an appointment - give them something to read. With all the fantastic efforts the club has made it would be a shame if we don't attract a wider audience. 1

Said this a few years back could have a billboards dotted about the town with both clubs fixtures on for that month.. I also like the idea of a Flexi ticket... so both clubs charge £20 match day entry if you had 3 matches for £45 the someone could go 2 yeds game and 1 latics game in one month or vise versa you'd maybe have to devise a way to put the money back in to both clubs fairly but it would be worth a try at least. 1
Happyed Posted November 28, 2024 Posted November 28, 2024 Still pinching myself with all the positivity from our club! The squad is packed with quality and easily capable of competing at the top half of the table. social media in full flow and so professional. …. It’s time fans old and new come out in numbers and show their support 7
jroyales Posted November 29, 2024 Author Posted November 29, 2024 Can't argue with you Happyed but how? That's my cry. I'm sure our club is working on it since they have ticked all of the boxes to get us where we are. Thanks again to ALL of those working for our club - they are making a dream come true. 1
Happyed Posted November 29, 2024 Posted November 29, 2024 I think they’ve probably done what’s needed. Great squad, tickets offers and game day entertainment. Maybe I’m full of the joys already but I think we’ll see a step change in attendances this season 3
clifford Posted November 29, 2024 Posted November 29, 2024 I personally think we have a bums on seats squad. Hopefully the results will follow and the attendances will be on an upward curve 2

A 2,500 average would see us right up there with other top Championship clubs. 2
jroyales Posted November 29, 2024 Author Posted November 29, 2024 I'd be thinking 3,500 plus i.e. 2500 us and 1000 them.
tandle Posted November 29, 2024 Posted November 29, 2024 if we are playing well, we will get at least 3.000 of our own supporters. when playing bradford a possible gate of 6.000. and when playing the rest, we will be lucky if any away team brings 400.

jroyales Posted November 29, 2024 Author Posted November 29, 2024 Anita, I'll always miss the Hornets and I hope your season, and ours, go well and we meet up again the season after next so we can take an easy four points off you - yet again! Looking forward to the 12th of January - what is the highest points difference between the games played? I'm sure it will be beaten then. Will you be there??? 1 1

jroyales Posted December 9, 2024 Author Posted December 9, 2024 Over 700 season tickets sold already! Only 43 last season. 2
Tim G Posted December 9, 2024 Posted December 9, 2024 More positive news by the day, can't wait for the season to begin. Great that we will be sharing the Latics shop too. Does anyone know what time on 21st December the shop launch takes place?

If i understood correctly it was 43 season tickets the season before last at Whitebank, last season was around the 250 mark so to get around 700 for next season is fantastic news, well done to all concerned. Really good episode of "the Boundary Line", excellent insight to the club from all parties and the feel good factor is defiantly back but I'm glad also with an air of caution, we dont want to run before we can walk as the Championship is a whole different beast from League 1, still think though next season will be an absolute belter!!!!! Interesting to hear BQ / MF's thoughts on the current state of IMG. Reading a lot of other Championship and League One forums it seems that there is a lot of similar views from other clubs. Yes get your act together off the field as for years many clubs (Oldham included) have been a shambles so sort yourselves out but if what happens on the pitch is only a minimal part for the package then what is the point? Totally agree with BQ / MF's comments and think a lot of other clubs are feeling the same way and are making their thoughts known. Not now but in the future I can see the parameters of the whole IMG ratings system being overhauled to make a bit more sense and give on field performance more of an impact on future scores, here's hoping for common sense to prevail, a big ask I know where the RFL is concerned 5
m brooksy Posted December 9, 2024 Posted December 9, 2024 The season ticket numbers are great and to go from 47 to 230 to 700 plus in two seasons is phenomenal. The Boundary Line series has been superb all season. 7
saints10coach Posted December 9, 2024 Posted December 9, 2024 Just watched the Boundary Line and its very positive indeed. I am not one that likes to get engrossed with off field happenings, but have to admit the media and marketing is fantastic. Think young Kieran comes across really well, and has the enthusiasm of youth to drive the dream forward. 5

The IMG schemes are fine in theory and certainly clubs should be encouraged to get past the short termism which bedevils them. In practice, however, they tend to be exercises in pulling up the ladder to create a fixed top tier of clubs, which suits modern brand and content professional sport. Once the preferred clubs have their grade A licences, then a split could well be engineered, leaving the rest of the clubs high and dry. 3 1
