Challenge Cup 2023 First and Second round Draw

I see that they Challenge Cup 1st and 2nd round draw was made on 14th December last year, so it should be happening again soon. Anybody any idea when or who’s in the draw?

The community clubs invited to take part in R1/2 have a deadline in early December to say whether they accept. I think the draw will be mid-December as per last year.

The early round arrangements for the CC should be with the clubs concerned by monday. I can only presume that the Trade Press will have been copied in ....

Draw is typically before Christmas because the first round is usually late January/early Feb, so will need to happen soon.

A club posted the invite they recieved on twitter saying that the draw will be held mid Jan with the 1st round played mid Feb

Earlier than that as been told League One clubs enter in Round 3 due to be played weekend 11th February 2023.

According to the fixture list published in LE, the second round's between February 23rd and 26th and the third round's between March 9th. and 12th.

Yes, I love the cup and all of its rounds. I’ve said I’m going to try and do a game in each round. I’m not sure if I will achieve it now, compared to when I did it when I was 19 but I’ve got the best intentions here.

Strong entry from Community clubs looking at that link from Wales RL

The way the first two rounds are structured I expect scalps will be on offer from both within the Community game and also League 1.....Can't wait.

The teams are earlier in the thread or on a link.  Criteria seems to be top two divisions of NCL plus regional league winners.  It's all by invite only so criteria is a bit loose year on year

As far as NCL are concerned the invitations go out on the basis of final league positions with the next club stepping in if anyone declines.

Other positions at regional level taken up by winners or Management decision. Usually the Champions.....

Thanks spidey and del capo, thought all ncl prem teams were required to enter but looks like that's untrue. Looks like a pretty much who wants to regarding ncl teams, until there's enough entrants

As it’s out of season the NCL won’t compel teams to compete. Invite the top ranked then move down if any of them decline

For a change ?

Last year was the first year they haven’t entered in god knows how long & that was simply down to the early start.
