Can't believe he's still only 23...do we still class him as "YJW" then?

Really liked him during his very brief spell with us last year (especially the game at Magic). Had a great attitude and I wish him well.

Given his tender age, is he able to step up to Super League.  Only time will tell I guess.

He really did look the part a few years ago but lots of young players look like they could be world beaters and then just fade away

You don’t just become a bad player. It’s usually down to attitude, confidence, work ethic etc

He had a few decent games as a fearless kid as lots of kids do but got so much more bedwetting from folk on here and in the media, like Sutcliffe, Handley, Oledski etc before them, they then become decent SL players, nothing more.

There's kids like this in every club but there seemed to be an absolute frenzy around YoungJack which was baffling and weird.

He’s not a bad player but he stopped developing

I think it was just his age and winning a grand final at 17, he's a very good player but injuries have just totally halted his progress.

Oledski and Handley are internationals by the way.

All down to constant injuries unfortunately. You can't develop if you aren't playing.

I also think he was brought in to the first team on a constant basis far too young.

He's played about 100 games (if that) in 6 years.

He's been signed as a back-up fullback, he gets to train with Rovers' systems and play for Bradford if not needed. Sounds like a good platform for his development. If he can push on through, great, but Rovers have Peta Hiku coming in as full back next year so this is a long-term pathway for Jack into Super League rather than Rovers betting the house on someone who was previously seen as a hot prospect

Good luck to him I say, people who are prepared to put the graft in deserve multiple chances, especially if they've been unlucky with injuries.

Apparently this site says I "won the day" here on 23rd Jan, 19th Jan, 9th Jan also 13th December, whatever any of that means. Anyway, 4 times in a few weeks? The forum must be going to the dogs - you people need to seriously up your game. Where's Dutoni when you need him?

Totally I think he's too god to be in the Championship so I hope it works out for him, to be honest Id have him back at Leeds for the remainder of the season with our injuries we have at the moment.

The hype around Walker was always ridiculous. He's small, not that quick and has a non-existent passing game. He's got courage (as shown in the 2017 GF) and chimes into the line OK, but he ticks far too few boxes for the requirements of a class full back, and while his career has undoubtedly been disrupted by injuries, he was just never the player he was hyped up to be.
