Giants to smash the champions on the way to taking their crown.

But it'll be because Saints have to play 17 of their 30+ man squad or the ref was rubbish 😀

Boooooo ( getting in before the Saints fans ).

Take that many players out of any SL team and they're going to struggle. We'll wait & see what the squad looks like when its announced tomorrow.

Take 13 out of Leigh and we don't field a full team, it's a luxury having so many in the squad to choose from, and you have not had to go out and bring in any loan player's.

to have a top flight game the same weekend as the cc final would have been unthinkable in years gone by

Broncos played a game v Wigan on Challenge Cup weekend in, I think, 2001.

Best crowd of the season.

Well, it's an explanation at least, and fair play to Huddersfield for accommodating it. But if we're going to have the WCC (and I think we should) then it should be properly incorporated into the season, we shouldn't be relying on the teams agreeing to play on the weekend of the challenge cup to make it happen. There should be no games other than the finals this weekend.

They used to start a week earlier, but that was it the WCC was over here. When going over there, you need preparation so you'd have to start 2 weeks earlier in that case.

Hopefully the restructure next season can accommodate for this.

Rather than 'kindly agreeing' the truth is Hudds didn't get any say in the game getting moved once Saints and the RFL had reached an agreement with the NRL over the SL Champions participating in the NRL Pre-season competition which also included the WCC game. Once this happened Saints had to fly out 2 weeks prior to the season starting so they could play SGI first and then Penrith. It was a condition of the WCC taking place that Saints had to be the 18th team in that competition

Batchelor being back, if indeed he is, would be a big boost for us. Our performances haven't been perfect in recent weeks but the level of commitment and desire to win is as strong as I've ever seen from us.

Being at home, we should expect to win the match though with Huddersfield's improved form, I'm pretty certain we'll have another close run match. The biggest winning margin for matches involving us in the last 5 has been 4 points!

Saints currently 12-0 up after a Makinson brace and two Percival conversions.

Red card for Joe Greenwood, less than a minute after coming on as sub, use of elbow.

Hudds down to 11 as they already have someone in the bin.

Matty English gets a try for Hudds, as often happens when a team is down on numbers.

14-6.

Huddersfield missed chance at one end, Makinson completes his hat trick at the other, right on half time.

18-6.

Hudds discipline is awful, Thaler is being so lenient in them they should be down to 10 or 11 not just 12.

Hills high swinging arm in the 1st min should have had a card and English cannonball tackle was a shocker and was a definite red not just a yellow. Greenwood elbow definitely deserved the red.

One off and one in the bin, just how lenient can you get?

No ill discipline from Saints?

Fantastically appropriate nickname if so.

Hudds knock on after the kick off, Saints then knock on but the entirely lenient towards Huddersfield Thaler gives Saints six again and then a penalty.

Percival bangs it over,

Saints 20 Hudds 6.

Saints bomb a try that would have probably ended the game as a contest but a pass to Ritson that would have resulted in a try never came, not sure who the greedy culprit was.

Another six again for Saints, Huddersfield must be embarrassed with how they're being kept in the game.

Ritson try disallowed by the touch judge who seems to be joining in this appalling bias against the Saints heroes.

Huddersfield six again, then another.

Ash Golding scores after accepting a fantastic pass from one of the officials.

Connor nails the conversion, now 20-12, remarkable as they now seem to be down to ten men.

Methinks the commentator also doubles up as a girlyball commentator.

Did someone hint on here that Jack Dearden or Trevor Hunt aren't quite as on the ball as they used to be?, with great respect it's one of those doing the job today.

Cudjoe intercepts but is dragged down a yard from the line.

Connor creates a massive gap for Naiqama, game on!

20-16, ktc.

Connor nails it,

Saints 20 Hudds 18,

10 mins left.
