chiefgeneral Posted March 3, 2024 Posted March 3, 2024 Team news just in..... Not sure about Wildie at loose when we have Whittel (assuming he's available) and Johnson (winger on bench) 1
Bedford Roughyed Posted March 3, 2024 Posted March 3, 2024 With the best, thats a good bit of PR, though I would say the Bedford team, theres, like, you know, 13 blokes who can get together at the weekend to have a game together, which doesnt point to expansion of the game. Point, yeah go on!

shaw llewellyn Posted March 3, 2024 Posted March 3, 2024 Referee not great but our discipline, defence and attack are woeful. Not much else to say.
shrewsbury roughyed Posted March 3, 2024 Posted March 3, 2024 34-6 at ht. Being over run. Admittedly the league is our priority but a strong second half would be good to regain some pride and confidence for the season’s start. It’s not getting beaten by a strong Championship team that bothers me, it’s the constant mistakes, ball dropping etc. Suggests that we’re not mentally sorted enough so far. Onwards and upwards. 2
chiefgeneral Posted March 3, 2024 Posted March 3, 2024 I reading the commentary online. Who dropped the ball from kick off? Was it Turner again?
shaw llewellyn Posted March 3, 2024 Posted March 3, 2024 We have players with superleague and championship experience and York have Superleague and Championship players. Beaten by a better team. 2
Jackie61 Posted March 3, 2024 Posted March 3, 2024 Beaten by a better team but again too many errors from the off. Need to concentrate on the league now and hope we do walk it after all the hype. Listened to the match on BBC York, thought the commentator was quite rude at times about Oldham, called us liitle men at one point from the other side! Also called Cornwall - Cornwall Pirates RL before correcting himself. Might have been in jest but I found it disrespectful. 1

sheddingswasus Posted March 3, 2024 Posted March 3, 2024 Second half much better and made a huge difference when Astley went to half back. How Myler’s try was given was a mystery to all except the ref. Massive double movement. Their second try on the death looked like his foot was in touch, but the video will show it one way or the other.

Roughyed Rats Posted March 3, 2024 Posted March 3, 2024 Schooled by a much better side today. Astley has to be moved to halfback for me. I also expect much more from Jordan Turner who was bang average today. Not convinced by Ellis either. On a positive note, I thought Farnworth played well and Wildie gave it his all. However, the standout performance was by the travelling support who were outstanding from start to finish. We’ve learned quite a bit from this pre-season. Now let’s bring on the stuff that really matters. 1 2

Sensible decision to have a week off before the Workington game
