Having the WCC as well would be madness and just dilutes the entire thing.

The cost of flights hotels food tickets etc PP is around 2000 pounds so 10000 poms forget it.

Yep, Vegas is an NRL event to serve the NRL.

Of those, 40,870 unique users were from the US, a 185 per cent increase on the opening round of last year.

Given there were 30,000+ Aussies in Vegas presumably checking in for match day information from time to time this would not be a surprising figure?

Yeah that crossed my mind as well, but there`s no getting away that the one million unique viewers over 24hrs is pretty amazing.

My maths is ropey but I think it means they have in the region of 700,000 in equivalent periods normally so you're looking at around 300,000ish more, of which 40,000 are in the States at a time when there are 30,000 NRL focused Aussies in the states.

I think it speaks to the huge success it's been in an Australian visibility sense.

I wouldn’t be so quick to dismiss the idea - there were approximately 4-5k Brits there this year, with no SL/WCC involvement

There wasn’t though, was there?

I thought there were? Apologies if not but I'd understood that was broadly the figure.

The best think for us to do is to ignore this whole venture and let the NRL get on with it. If they want to waste their own money on it, it's up to them. ..

.......unless and until it's a long-term and sustainable success and we wake up one day and find our parochialism and lack of vision has frozen us out.

Approx. 15k Aussies was the general number most seemed to be suggesting

I agree. It's typical RL mindset, get over excited, focus on one thing and then be disappointed when it isn't the silver bullet.

There is little reason for SL to be involved in Vegas.

SL presence in Vegas… I would rather see the RFL and SL clubs create their own event to foster and grow.

Maybe the SL launches every year with a Saturday afternoon/evening fixture between the GF and CC winners in Huddersfield at the birthplace of RL. With remaining first round fixtures taking place on the Sunday, or maybe the remainder of the round is played the following week.

Been announced down here that there will be Four new NRL teams for Vegas in 2025. One of which was named as the Penrith Panthers. With the other three TBA. The plan is to hold a NRLW women's game as well.

The question here is what if one of the 2025 Vegas teams is the NRL premiers. Wither the World Club Challenge ?

I would go with the panthers, warriors, storm and cowboys for 2025.

as for the WCC the only and obvious choice would be to move The date of the game.

I like the idea of CC winners and SL winners starting the season but you lost me at Huddersfield!

I don’t think the Premiers will be keen on playing in three predominantly different time zones in three weeks. As it stands, the Vegas teams get a week off before round two. I don’t think they would be keen on a WCC in the week off either.

If the Premiers are going to Vegas, I anticipate the WCC to be off for 2025.

The WCC could be potentially off indefinitely then as the NRL are locked into Las Vegas until 2028.

Didn't the NRL estimate that up to 5,000 English fans flew across for it as it is? The Australian media consistently mentioned how many English fans were there too. It's hardly a stretch to imagine more doing this if a WCC was added.

Yep, I’d definitely say more than the 2000 @ATLANTISMAN suggests. There were probably about 1000 Hull FC/ HKR alone that I saw.
