Match thread: Championship Round 17. Wakefield v Featherstone Rovers. Sunday 28th July 2024.

Just read the report on our injuries by our conditioning coach , and it makes grim reading.  Our squad is in a hell of a mess not withstanding a lack of effort. We don,t stand a chance against Wakey , but we must concentrate on Batley the week after to get our season on track , or the other scenario does not want to be considered. (does it) ????

The great thing about rugby league is that however bad the last game was, you get a chance the week after to start to put things right.

Except last week was pretty bad, and this week we're away to runaway Championship leaders Wakefield, who are coming off the back of a jolly good thrashing last week.

Our 23 man squad still looks thin.

On the injury table we have Turner, Massey, Bussey and Albert plus Lacans.

Suspended are Gale and Patton.

Jones in back in Australia on compassionate leave with all our best wishes.

That leaves us with 15 of our own, unless we have any of the injured list ready to resume.

Josh Hardcastle is back after his suspension.

Last week we used one loan and two DR. Let's see who we call on this week.

More than a win, we need to see effort, pride and commitment from 1 to 17 on Sunday. Go out there and do your best for Featherstone Rovers lads. It's all we can ask.

Well, that aged quickly😂

Turner gone, Lockwood back.

Massey and Addy both out. Albert and Bussey available soonish.

By the time those two come back, we could be in real trouble.

Martin Vickers will be propping at this rate!

Might be better  at prop than he is as CEO.(Responsibility) Financial management of the club and control of forward planning for the growth of the company.

fevnut has now published ‘Wakefield Trinity v Fev: 21 man squads’.

We find it quite difficult to see the potential shape of the teams in the form in which the clubs publish the squads, so we choose to use guesswork based on last week’s teams to set them out in the traditional manner running from fullback to loose forward and then subs.

We also include a chart showing the leading scorers for both teams.

Access the page by clicking on the link below.

Has the team for the Wakefield match been announced?

The 18 man squad was announced, assuming that Charlie Harris will miss out and everyone else will play.

Eden

Jeffrey, Barley, Minikin, Wynne

Aekins, Reynolds

Nakubuwai, Bowes, Kibula

Day, Hardcastle

Bussey

Tennison, Silk, Arnold, Kamano

Get your abacuses out

Not the best way to go into a Derby game , low on numbers and not playing well. Hope we can put some pride back in the shirt, club and the Town, it's a tough call ! But good luck UTR.

Even with 2 DR we have still only quoted 18 players available. A total shambles.

Yes give Harris a run out it cannot do any worse than we have ie Eden

For me it depends on the lad himself, putting him into a game where we get slaughtered could destroy any confidence he has after doing so well at Dewsbury. And there do more harm than good in the long term.

I'm sure I'll think of something funny to say soon.
