He couldn’t tell from the first camera. Asked for the second. Couldn’t tell from that. Then went back to the first when, miraculously, it became clear.

Took him a dozen or so looks to find something conclusive.

So he should just make the call on the first view? If he thinks he’s going to overturn it then he’s going to want to make sure.

Again its the onfield rule that’s causing controversy

The onfield call is the current rules. Whether it's a good system or not is irrelevant.

He admitted that he couldn’t tell from the first camera angle. Then he used that same camera angle to find conclusive evidence. This is nonsense. Get rid of the on field call.

You’re misunderstanding my point.

Because of the on field call the video ref is going to want to make sure he’s correct yo over overturn it so will want to watch it quite a few times to make sure.

As I say I thought the VR got it correct

Some "hot potato" handling from Cas at the end of the first half, but it comes to nothing.

Given that it’s supposed to be clear reason to overturn the on field refs decision the vr said he needed to see another angle because the first was not clear enough to make his decision the other angle was no good so he went back to the the camera that he couldn’t make a decision on the first time to make his decision.  How can he have seen a clear reason?

should have been a try.

entertaining game Salford should be up a few more.

12 all with half an hour to go, and a lot of enterprising Rugby being played.

Can Lafai pass the ball but chooses not to, or does he want to but can't?

The "Dark Ages" is a term referring to life at the RFL under the new regime. It's characterized by a decline in openness, professionalism, transparency and  achievements,

And was he playing for the Roosters during Ryan Hall's stint there? :kolobok_wink:

What a frustrating game to watch. I have a few questions about the standard of the refs.

Why wasn't it a red card if it's late and contact with the head?

If you are talking about the yellow card in the second half, the ref said mitigation was that his head was low

How do you mitigate a late off the ball  hit?

Because the tackler got there as fast as his legs would take him. 😀

At full strength Salford look like they have the 2nd best backline in the league after Wigan, that club deserves a lot of credit for what they are doing with what they have.
