But, I'm reminded of when we let se'a 'Tiny' solomona go. A massively popular player. Had to let him go to accommodate Bob Lindner. We didn't "let" Tiny go he had the chance to return to NZ and sign for the newly formed Auckland Warriors team in the NRL at the end of the 93-94 season , Bob Lindner was playing for Oldham that same season. However, having said that they did play twice together.

Bert Street Posted November 9, 2024 Posted November 9, 2024 Broke his arm on 5th December against Leigh with Lindner at loose forward. The most likely explanation, perhaps, is that he was ruled out for the season and then had the offer to go to Auckland. Glenn Liddiard made his second debut on 20th Feb, so perhaps we deregistered then? Good players for us all. 2

They played in the same team from Lindner arriving in September until December, when as someone else posted he got injured, and didn't pull an Oldham jumper on again, shame because he was a great prop and a top bloke.
bosman69 Posted November 9, 2024 Posted November 9, 2024 Tiny was a magnificent prop forward who played over 40 games for Oldham. Played in an era were there only 2 subs and was close to 20 stone.. how devastating would he have been with four subs and ability to play shorter spells?! 3
twitchy Posted November 10, 2024 Posted November 10, 2024 Don't know if anyone's seen Wikipedia on josh Drinkwater, but according to that's he's an Oldham player. 1

Bedford Roughyed Posted November 12, 2024 Posted November 12, 2024 How many centres do we have now? With the best, thats a good bit of PR, though I would say the Bedford team, theres, like, you know, 13 blokes who can get together at the weekend to have a game together, which doesnt point to expansion of the game. Point, yeah go on!
sheddingswasus Posted November 12, 2024 Posted November 12, 2024 Three oR four depending on whether junior is a winger or centre
bosman69 Posted November 13, 2024 Posted November 13, 2024 Ashurst confirmed as well now. Excellent second row with a great rugby brain. 2
jroyales Posted November 13, 2024 Author Posted November 13, 2024 Fantastic news. Congratulations to Bill, Mike and Sean for getting a tremendous squad together for what, will I hope, be the best season for in 64 years. My dream is Wembley and that dream could come true in 2025. Come on the YEDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 4

Looking on the Oldham website at the squad it is showing those for 2024 and now down to only 22 players so I assume it is members of last years squad who have a contract for 2025. Looks like all those who have left the club have now had their pictures removed and then at some point in the near future the website will be updated with all the newbies for the 2025 squad. From what we know already though the 2025 squad is looking mighty fine to me!!!! COME ON OLDHAM!!!! 1
