Great re-loan signing & opportunity / challenge for PLT. No questioning his ability but needs to improve his decision making when joining the attack line & the timing of his passes but where better to do it than here at Oldham under Long.

Personally, I thought his decision making improved dramatically as the season went on. Hope the improvement continues under Long next year. Bigger test in the Champ but I think this kid's got it.

That’s exactly what he says in his interview

HULL KR have confirmed that Phoenix Laulu-Togaga’e has signed a new one-year deal with the Robins until the end of 2026 and will rejoin Oldham RLFC on season-long loan for next season.

The young utility back played 18 games for Oldham in 2024, scoring 15 tries for the Roughyeds, helping fire the side to promotion into the Betfred Championship.

Phoenix was rewarded for his part in the Lancashire club’s success, being crowned League One Young Player of the Year at the 2024 Rugby League Awards.

Speaking on PLT’s new one-year deal, Hull KR Head Coach, Willie Peters said: “We’re pleased that Phoenix has signed a new one-year deal with the club.

“Phoenix has made strong progress at Oldham this year and was rewarded with the League Young Player of the Year award. The award was well earned and it shows Phoenix is ready for the next step in his journey.

“Now it’s about Phoenix proving himself in a competitive Championship competition next season with Oldham and furthering his development with the aim of becoming a Super League player.”

Well chuffed with that great signing for next season, well done mr ford and mr quinn, now for nathan cleary🤣

Apparently an issue with Nathan Cleary. Obviously he would have had to go part time and the idea was he would supplement his income by opening a stall selling that great Sydney gourmet food,  the Pie Floater

Experiments with Cheese and Onion Pies were unsuccessful 🤔

With the best, thats a good bit of PR, though I would say the Bedford team, theres, like, you know, 13 blokes who can get together at the weekend to have a game together, which doesnt point to expansion of the game. Point, yeah go on!

A good call re Joe who struggled last year with niggles and knocks from years of playing above his weight in the back row.

Real shame about wardle. Must’ve been a hard call to make but better for the team that he’s made it now and not mid- season. Definite need for back row reinforcements now

Ashurst & Thornley definitely - both excellent in Wakefield's game against York at the weekend. Possibly another but can't see many more signings as the squad's looking very strong already.

A top quality Aussie half back would be nice with plenty of SL experience.

It's a winkathon.. 🤔😉.. no doubt all will be revealed over the next few weeks and as we have seen with George hirst there may be a surprise or two in the offing. I see that Oldhamer Eamonn Ocarroll is leaving the Bulls.. with the suggestion that he is joining the coaching team at Saints. The Bulls have been gradually rebuilding and have a strong squad for 2025 but now need a new head coach.
