Absolutely class gesture this. You ofter hear the term 'RL family' mentioned, this is a prime example.

This could be a financial lifeline. Well done Wakey

We got a great reception at Whitehaven this season and I would hate to see them fold. Well done Matt Ellis, lets hope it is a significant amount and they can sort themselves out from here on in.

Not only that but I hope quite a few of their fans also take this offer up and come to the game, after all it will be money to their club.

Judging from the other thread, there is going to be a lot of people kicking off over this saying it gives Haven an unfair advantage over other clubs.

Why though ? It's to try and keep them going its not to buy players to give them said advantage. I can't see what the problem is,you might care to explain ta.

Great gesture by Matt Ellis, I just hope the £10 ticket offer entices some walk ups to make it a good pay day for Whitehaven. A lot of season ticket holders this season at Belle Vue, although I believe there is a bucket collection too.

I imagine in some peoples heads that by giving them money it helps them make the end of the season where they might not have.

Oxy the Championship and League 1 clubs need to stand together we can't afford to lose any.We get minimal help from SL and Whitehaven need to finish the season for the credibility of the Championship table.

So does that mean that all tickets sold before 7pm tonight are full price and the proceeds to Wakefield?  I'm not suggesting this isn't a good gesture, just trying to understand how it would work.  Hope it raises a great deal for Whitehaven, I don't subscribe to the notion that 'they overspent, it's their own fault', all clubs have been there at some point.

Not convinced that this is a valid point but I hope Whitehaven survive anyway.

I 100% agree. Some people seem to think any help is giving them an unfair advantage though.

So why are they in trouble then?

Why do you think this? Did it happen when Bramley went bust?

That's a good thing imho,I'd hate to lose any clubs. Aren't we supposed to be 'a family ' all be it the poor relations ?

So when these clubs overspend whose fault is it if it's not their own?

There are a multitude of factors involved and it’s disingenuous to suggest otherwise. All companies make projections based on many factors and these income projections dictate spend.  Projections don’t always come to fruition for various reasons, but perhaps you always get it right…

As someone who is well versed in cash forecasting, in environments insanely more complex than Whitehaven RLFC, the simple answer here is that it would 100% be their fault.
