Denigrate? Oh please. I replied to a post agreeing with Dunbar and it was hardly denigrate.

I also criticised Bateman plenty too when he played for Wigan and we should have never signed him second time around. I mean its all therw on this forum if you carevto check. He was far from the player he was even then, never mind now.

Thing is I can post objectively without the rose tinted spectacles when it comes to Wigan players. You have long proven that you can't and your jealousy and hatred always shines through.

Mostly because there are a handful of Wigan fans (not usually you but you're certainly getting going this time) who like to attack me personally regardless of what I actually say.

I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.

I think Bateman is in there to provide some experience. He's had plenty for criticism, but i think he's been great for Wire and there's no real reason that he should be dropped from his place for England.

I'm excited to see what Nsemba can do when he gets his chance.

I think its a good team, I'm not a Lees fan, but he'll do a job.

That backline is exciting, I hope we use it well.

I replied to a dig by you at my post, if you have issues with other Wigan fans thats nothing to do with me.

As I said I try to be objective and dont think I am biased on these things, I would have had Ashton in over Marshall any day of the week for instance. I simply want England to play well and build, especially for the Ashes tour.I said I think Wane is making the same mistakes as the World Cup with this, as well as some of his other squad selections. I'm criticising Wane as much as anything, who is obviously closely tied with Wigan, and that doesn't fit your narrative either.

It is a good side.

Lees and Havard are both very mobile and hard working in defence.  I expect England to try and play a fast paced game with carries from the outside backs and then an energetic kick and chase game.  For this game plan, the starting front row is very good.

Hopefully we win the arm wrestle and the field position for the first 20/25 and earn the chance to play some attacking rugby

The backline 1-7 with Lewis on the bench too is as exciting as we have seen for years. Youth, athleticism and real pace. Smith plays the role of the organising kicking half we've cried out for and Williams provides the short kicking game too.

It's a great balance.

I'm not that surprised by Nsemba's omission. Bateman was always going to start as he's essentially the incumbent and has played well repeatedly for England. It's not just Wane who values players like that, pretty much all international coaches look for those players who they can consistently rely on at international level.

Nsemba's opportunity will come and no doubt very soon. He's had an outstanding year. However, Wane is a defence first kind of coach, and lets not forget how much of a torrid time teams started giving Nsemba defensively before Wigan moved Farrell to the right edge to fix it (even Hull FC ran rings around him and Farrimond). Since then Nsemba has gone from strength to strength, but he also hasn't been tested as much as we mostly faced teams who massively prefer right to left attacking. He's still got that developing to do and I don't think Wane is the sort of coach who will pick someone because they are 'almost there'.

The fact that Nsemba has made the England side so quickly is testament to the incredible talent and he'll be in there soon enough.

This ain't really true. Australia in particular have always largely picked players on form and changed the team accordingly. Very rarely do they just keep someone in the team or squad until they retire like England often do.

This side is better than the one that played in the World Cup Semi-final I believe. I will be very disappointed if they don't win today. England by 10+.

I agree. I do think the World Cup semi was a blip and England played as bad as they could have done with various players having shockers. That team could and should have beat Samoa, and as bad as they were almost did.

As you say this looks a far stronger team to me.

I would have gone with Nsemba on the bench over Knowles, but that is a strong 17.

Samoa will have to play well to win.

Toa, Toa Samoa!! Let's go, Samoa!!

Samoa: Tuivasa-Sheck, Skelton, Tago, Pauga, Mariner, Milford, Luai, Molo, Tevaga, May, Blore Anae Ulisese, Nanai, Asiata.

Interchanges: Seuala-Talagi, Leilua, Vaalepu, Chan Kum Tong.

Some good players but England the stronger 17 for me.

I'm surprised that they've gone for a back and a hooker on the bench. One second-rower and one prop.

I'd rather have two props on the bench.

More interesting than Bateman v Nsemba for me (Nsemba untried at this level- if we win today I think he’ll be in next week) is Smith v Lewis. Conservatism v the X factor. Lewis can win a game for a team; he can also lose one. I think he’ll come on as a replacement 9 and maybe cause some havoc.

You need a game manager and Smith has shown he can run a game at the highest level.

Lewis on the bench means that we could have Willaims and Lewis on each edge running at the big Samoans late in each half.  That's pretty exciting.

They should both be playing IMO. Nsemba should have Knowles spot on the bench.

This would have been the change I would have made. Bateman is an absolute must in the team. Experienced, plays very well in Internationals, and a leader in a relatively young pack. Knowles has not been great all year nor is he a regular in the starting 13.

Knowles is a must for me, until someone consistently tougher and better appears. Being around the squad will help Nsemba. Thompson will surely start next week, assuming his suspension is over.

Luai just laid out a Tuigamala Wigan shirt before the Siva Tau. Nice touch.
